I have to be honest, when I was asked to review a nursery rhymes DVD I was a little less than excited. Gradie is 3 years old and I have read, sing and listened to my fair share of nursery rhymes. But then I clicked the link! It was a personalized DVD and Gradie would be the STAR! Immediately I knew I wanted to get my hands on this!!
TeenyTinyStar was created to provide personalized videos that makes a unique gift for kids (and their parents) to watch again and again. I wish I could sit here and tell you that Gradie will give me 30 minutes to make dinner every night but I can’t. I have been known to throw on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or a Peppa Pig to get dinner made. Problem is that Gradie watches for just long enough to prep the meal, not actually cook it.
ENTER TeenyTinyStar.
TeenyTinyStar has found a creative way to produce videos designed to captivate children’s minds. They have combined fun and colorful animations and your little one appearing through each DVD sparking your child’s imagination and bringing them on a fun musical adventure!
You can order a DVD ($40) or digital download ($30) or BOTH ($65)! There is also an option to add in a Nursery Rhymes Music CD that has the 12 songs that are on the plus 6 bonus songs. Be sure to head to the TeenyTinyStar product page to see all product options they have.
The process was super easy; first selecting the right photo. I was nervous about selecting a photo that would look funny but following these few simple rules and I picked the perfect photo. Just make sure:
- Little one is smiling
- Little on is facing the camera
- The photo is well-focused (not an action shot of Susie riding her bike)
- Well-lighted (none of those beautiful sunset photos from the lake)
- Close up shot (not Johnny waving across the soccer field)
- Digital photo must at 500kb (this is your little not a pacman game)
Once your photo is uploaded TeenyTinyStar takes care of the rest, it’s THAT EASY!! Your DVD will arrive in about a week!
As soon as I saw the envelope I let Gradie open it and just watched her face as she peeked inside and saw her face on the cover of a movie. She was so excited and we immediately had to put in to watch. She was mesmerized watching herself as Old MacDonald in “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”, a doctor Mama called in “Five Little Monkeys”, a bus driver in “Wheels on the Bus”, and a dancing teapot in “I’m a Little Teapot”! Plus many more – there are 12 Nursery Rhymes in total.
We watched it 3 times before bed that night (and many, many times since) and she sang songs the entire day at school the next.
Of course if you have more than one child the cost could multiply quickly BUT TeenyTinyStar has DVD options for 2 or 3 little’s in a movie at the same time (for just a bit more), they’ve thought of it all. This would also be a great gift for aunts/uncles and grandparents, I promise the kids will love it.
Here is a fun YouTube video showing an example of the TeenyTinyStar DVD;
