Learn how HueTrition can help you stay on track during the holidays, and every other time during the year!
Healthy Eating Hacks & Tips for the Holidays:
- Eat color from the season – apples, butternut squash
- Eat veggies and color in hot soups and stews
- Let kids help chop veggies, wash veggies, and help you organize and prep colorful fruits and veggies—then baker them off! Pumpkin bread and muffins can be packed with nutrition (hint sub apple sauce for butter)
Did you know the color of fruits or vegetables can tell you the vitamins and nutrients they have? At HueTrition, they divide these foods into groups by color: blue/purple, red, green, yellow/orange, and white. Dividing fruits and vegetables by color provides an easy way to incorporate nutrient needs and health benefits into our diet. You should aim to consume one of each of the 5 colors every day.
HueTrition creates a healthy lifestyle change that lasts. It is NOT a diet, but if you or your family have been struggling to eat enough fruits and vegetables, if you are wondering how to shift to a more plant-based way of eating, or if you just want some new ideas to incorporate nutritious color into your lifestyle, this is a great book for you!
You’ll learn how to substitute your snacks and side dishes with colorful vegetables. The more you do this, the more you’ll notice improvements in your energy levels and weight—but more importantly, you’ll be on your way to fool-proofing yourself against chronic disease (coupled with regular physical activity, of course)!
Get our NEW HueTrition Book: Healthy & Colorful Eating Made Fun for more easy tips for the whole family to stay healthy HERE.
This book also serves as a guide to children. Within the second half of the book, you’ll find a story you can read to your children: one that invites them into the world of choosing food through color.
We also encourage you to check out HuePets, a fun way to encourage kids to eat fruits and vegetables by turning healthy eating into a game. It is important to get kids excited about eating fruits and vegetables because the choices they make at a young age can shape choices for the rest of a child’s life.

This would be great for my grandchildren. I have a hard time getting them to eat many veggies. Maybe this would encourage them. I have to check this out soon. Thank you so much for sharing this

I lead by example.

I love the sound of this program! I like to hide veggies in sweeter things that they will eat anyway, such as Chocolate Mousse (avocado) or brownies (beets).

I do try to slowly introduce a different food each week to let them try.
Michelle Catallo says
I ensure my kids understood the pattern: Eat your vegetables first, then sopa, then the main. Plus, always making sure my plate was loaded with a salad or something, because my kids always wanted what was on “mommy’s plate”. I never forced the issue of healthy eating, I emulated it.

When my granddaughter is here we love to dip carrot sticks and broccoli into hummus she loves it.
Audrey Stewart says
We always make it fun. Carrots with Ranch Dressing. We buy the baby ones. We also love peanut butter and celery.
