A new tradition is trying vegan holiday recipes.
We leave cookies and milk out for Santa, bake many cookies during the season and just enjoy the holidays together, my 5 kids and I.

We decorate our tree after Thanksgiving dinner every year.

We are empty nesters, but we still go to church as a family. We used to make this egg nog – Kaluha concoction and drink it while we were decorating the tree and singing Christmas carols. We also let the kids open up one gift on Christmas Eve. There are probably more, but it’s hard for me to remember.
We go to the Midnight Mass and then come home to open the gifts under the Christmas tree.

My favorite Holiday tradition is to visit a local VA Hospital at Christmas time! It’s really fun seeing the Veterans’ faces light up.
I enjoy baking cookies for Santa and going to Barnes & Noble for Christmas gifts.

Each year I take the kids to decorate our own ginger bread house! They still enjoy it even though they are older!

My great niece and great nephew like to leave carrots out for Rudolph and Santa’s reindeer every Christmas Eve. They also leave cookies and milk out for Santa as well on Christmas Eve. These are our Christmas family tradiitons

We a;ways watch Christmas movies while baking and decorating Christmas cookies and treats.
Our holiday tradition is to travel. We’re an ex-pat family, a trailing household, and we like to take the opportunity to go out and see something new for Christmas each year. We chose something close to where we are stationed (usually the next country over) and go on an adventure. The key rule is though, that we are ALWAYS home in time for Christmas eve. We always bring home some kind of ornament or gift as a souvenir for under the tree.
We have LOADS of holiday traditions, but my favorite is singing carols at the piano.

We decorate our home the weekend after Thanksgiving. We bake dozens of cookies on Christmas Eve to share with family and friends.
Since my girls are older now, we don’t do many of the traditions we did when they were young. But, one yearly tradition is us going up to my sister’s in Wisconsin (about a three-hour drive each way) for a day on or around Christmas. It’s often the only day of the entire year I get my entire family with me at the same time. We’re still working on scheduling it for this year.
We lightly decorate our home for the holidays. Nothing overkill but still a bit festive.

Decorating the tree together on Black Friday.. hanging the outside lights on the same night.. christmas Eve get together with all the grandchildren.. followed by christmas dinner at my house every year….

My sisters, Mom and me get together for a whole day of baking goods for Christmas. It is a fun day with family.
We do Christmas gingerbread houses every year. It is a great way to get the family together and work together to make “art”. It is so much fun.

Two weeks before Christmas the whole family comes over (young and old alike) to decorate the tree, drink warm cider and snack on caramel popcorn balls. We can’t all be together on Christmas day so this is our annual day to hang out.

My parents, brother and I decorate the dining room and living room with figurines, Santas, blinking lights and imitation Christmas Tree.
Every year we draw names for the kids on my moms side (its a big family). Then we come back to my moms and my siblings and their families gather round and open presents from each other. Then we open presents from santa christmas morning.
