While Gradie doesn’t have any specific sensory processing issues, there is one noise that really gets to her and that is the buzzer at the hockey rink. It sounds at the end of each period and Gradie absolutely HATES it. Therefore, when I heard about HearMuffs from Lucid Audio I was happy to try them out because this mama loves hockey and I love when Gradie and Jeanna come to watch me play.
About Lucid Audio;
At Lucid Audio™, no matter who you are or what your needs, we want you to Hear Better®. Our Goal is to help people hear better at all ages and stages. Lucid Audio products span the range from infant and child protective HearMuffs with advanced comfort and control features, to AMPED® wireless audio devices with quality amplification of inside AND outside sounds, to personal sound amplification products that make hearing better accessible to everyone.”
Recently awarded the Family Choice Award, which recognizes the best in children’s and parenting products, Lucid Audio has created fantastic headphones for our kids, from infant through 10 years old.
Besides for focusing on creating a high quality product for our kids, Lucid Audio also focused on creating HearMuffs with non-toxic, child-safe materials. Plus you can get a pair in four fun colors including Pastel Blue, Spa Green, Pastel Pink and White.
HearMuffs are available in a protection only model, HearMuffs Sounds and HearMuffs Trio.
We received a white pair of the HearMuffs Trio. Gradie is just shy of 5 and these are designed for kids aged 5 to 10 and they are perfect for Gradie’s needs. With the Trio she can use them as passive noise reduction, in conversation mode, which allows comfortable sound levels in so your child can hear you, and they can be used as regular headphones by using the included 3.5MM audio cable.
Recently Gradie had to come to work with me for a few hours and we brought her Trio headphones along too. She absolutely loved using them with her tablet to be able to listen while she was using it. Gradie has also brought them along to a couple hockey games and gets them on near the end of the period and uses them as noise reduction – the buzzer at the end of the period no longer freaks her out.
She has said that they are very comfortable to wear, and she has a slightly larger head then some kids, but has no problem opening them up a little to get them to fit her just right.
Lucid Audio’s HearMuffs are available for babies up to 4 years old. We plan on doing this for Gradie’s baby sister who will make her grand appearance any day now – to keep her ears protected at the ice rink too. In addition, they offer a the HearMuffs protection only model for kids 5-10 too. With the HearMuffs Sounds your child will enjoy four soothing sounds and they allow voices to be heard while compressing potentially harmful noises to comfortable levels (maximum volume 60DB).
Starting at just $19.95 (protection only model), to $39.95 for the HearMuffs Trio and $49.95 for the HearMuffs Sounds, I am confident you’ll find the perfect pair for your child and your budget.

My granddaughter is really sensitive to certain noises such as loud toilet flushes in public bathrooms. These would be great for her. I love that you can also use them as regular headphones. The colors are great. Thank you so much for sharing

What a great product. I would’ve loved a pair of these when I was younger because I was really sensitive to many loud sudden noises.

We go to some concerts with our grandkids in the summer and I do worry about the music being to loud. These would be good to have since they are such a reasonable price and comfortable to wear.
