Our home is a hive of excitement right now – Jeanna is 28 weeks pregnant and Gradie is beyond excited to welcome her baby sister home. In fact she asks almost daily if it is time for baby to arrive yet.
Gradie is 4.5 now, hard to believe she’ll be in kindergarten in the fall. It all happened so fast, I am sure she was a new born like 2 weeks ago. Lucky for us Gradie has been very concerned about all things ‘baby’, like making sure the baby will have clothes to wear, and toys to play with. She’s also been very concerned about their crib as we haven’t put the crib side back on yet as we removed it for Gradie to use as she transitioned to a big girl bed. We are constantly reassuring her that we will get the crib set up as it should be before June and I am sure she won’t allow us to forget.
Recently we were approached by Newton Baby to review their crib mattress and after reading up on the brand and their mattresses we jumped at the opportunity to work with them.
Since the new mattress arrived and we took Gradie’s old crib/toddler bed mattress out of the crib and replaced it with the Newton Baby mattress we have been battling to get Gradie back out of her toddler bed.
She wants to know WHY we didn’t get her a mattress that is so ‘squishy’ and comfortable when she was a baby, and after sitting on the mattress myself I can understand why she’d be asking – it is night and day different from the mattress we used for Gradie.
There are many reasons we are huge fans of the Newton Wovenaire Crib Mattress. Knowing that they design it with our babies health, safety and comfort in mind, makes the mattress buying decision that much less complicated.
The mattress is washable, the cover is removable and cleaned in the washing machine and the core of the mattress can easily be cleaned up in the tub or shower.
Seeing as how the core is made of 90% air and 10% food-grade polymer it easily provides comfort for baby without any of the ‘old’ mattress drawbacks, such as springs, glues, toxic chemicals etc. As you can see this mattress easily handles Gradie’s almost kindergarten size body and you can definitely hand it down to baby #2.
As new parents we are constantly told to not let our kids sleep on their stomach to keep them safer while sleeping. However, we all know that once they are able to roll over they very likely will do just that – roll onto their stomachs. Good news is that the Newton Crib Mattress is 100% breathable. Take a look at the mattress inside the Newton cover;
Talking of the cover – it is made of two layers of highly breathable spacer fabric that are quilted together and available in 4 colors – cloud white, moonlight grey (pictured), sunrise pink, and sky blue.
Gradie gives the Newton Crib Mattress 2 thumbs up and says you should definitely get one for your baby. Head over to their website, the standard sized mattress is $299.99 and they have a mini version at $249.99. This mattress will last you years and you’ll be handing it down to baby #2 or 3 after your child is done using it.
Once your Newton Crib Mattress arrives, you will have 100 nights to decide if it is right for you and your baby. If either of you aren’t happy just return at our expense for a full refund.

So many important features that would make this a good choice for a mattress such as the breathability, comfort and no toxins.
