Thank you to Identity Games for sending me the Mouthguard Challenge Extreme game to play with my friends and family. We’ve played a few times, it is always a blast and we are excited to tell you why. As always all opinions are 100% my own.
We play quite a bit of board games at our house so we were pretty excited to try this one out. The game starts by putting plastic mouth guards into your mouth. This plastic guard keeps you from being able to say certain letters and sounds that require you to be able to close your mouth.
To play the game, a player must read sentences and phrases on cards and the other players must guess what they are saying. There are also cards that have extreme challenges on them that each player must try to accomplish. The game runs for 15 minutes. The person who has the most points at the end is the winner.
It was interesting to find out that some players could say some words or sounds that others could not. What we all had in common was intense laughing and some drooling, which made everyone laugh even harder.
The suggested age for this game is twelve years old. I don’t think this is due to the content on the cards, but rather because of the size of the mouth guards.
I think that this is a pretty entertaining game, especially for children of reading age through their teenage years. Definitely a great addition to family game night. You can order Mouthguard Challenge from Amazon or from their website for only $14.99.
