Growing up in South Africa we didn’t have Cheerios but shortly after coming to Minnesota they became one of my favorite cereals. They were one of Gradie’s first foods and they’re still a favorite go to breakfast as well as snack food.
Whenever we are going to head out on an ‘adventure’ as Gradie calls it, be it the zoo, the mall, a play area or outside park, Gradie has to have a bag of Cheerios to bring with. Lately she also asks to bring them with to school and she is excited that she is able to share them with ALL of her friends, including the one little guy who has a gluten intolerance because they’re GLUTEN FREE, so she is able to share them with everyone!!
Recently we headed to Walmart to get our latest supply of Cheerios and Gradie just HAD to grab a box of fruity Cheerios too. I wasn’t going to complain though, not with the Buy a Box, Give a Box campaign.
You see, when you head over to Walmart and pick up your specially marked package you will find your code inside the box and when you enter it right HERE you can send a coupon for a free box of Cheerios to someone special! The only question is, who would you want to share them with?
When I explained this to Gradie she got super excited, and squealed that she HAD to give a coupon for a free box to her very best friend Charlotte and of course to Carson, who is the child with a gluten intolerance. While she doesn’t understand why Carson cannot eat the same foods that she can, she loves knowing that her Cheerios are safe for him and that she can share them. After all, we teach our kids that sharing is important and I love that Gradie is so eager to share with her friends.
