Learning Resources – keeping our kids learning while playing! & #Giveaway!! (ends 2/3)

January 24, 2017 By Africa

Let’s start the new year off with FUN – fun and learning and what better way to do that then with Learning Resources!!

Educational Insights - keeping our kids learning while playing!

We were lucky enough to work with Learning Resources to test out their Primary Science™ Shining Stars Projector and Magnetic Counting Garden Puzzles, both for kids aged 3+ – perfect for Gradie to test out and experiment with.  I am excited to share our results with you and to bring you a great giveaway where you can WIN one of these toys for your child.

Learning Resources Magnetic Counting Garden Puzzles

Gradie is now identifying numbers – not just saying the numbers as she counts, but identifying 1, 2, 3 etc, which is why I knew that the magnetic counting garden puzzle was a great toy for her to try out.

Educational Insights - keeping our kids learning while playing!

We have been lucky enough to finally clear all the clutter and junk magnets from our fridge, that Gradie had collected over time, and replace them with the super cute lady bug, bee, bird, flower and butterfly, all shown above.

Gradie loves the bright colors and been able to put the pieces together.  After she leaves for school I often mix them up just so she can say; “HEY – who did that?” then proceed to put them back together, counting as she does it.  She also tells us repeatedly which each item is and sometimes gets silly and tries to mix up the pieces to ‘trick’ us.  It is just a lot of fun watching her play with these.

As I said we have these up on our fridge, but they’d also work great on a magnetic whiteboard etc that you might have set up in your home.   At just $9.99 the magnetic counting garden puzzles are the perfect item to add to your kids toy list this year!!

Learning Resources Shining Stars Projector

I cannot get enough of this projector.  When faced with the decision of which toys I’d like to try for Gradie I immediately chose the Shining Stars Projector, I knew Gradie would really enjoy it and she’d learn so much from it.  Learning while playing = WIN, WIN!!

Educational Insights - keeping our kids learning while playing!

Gradie loves playing ‘school’ at home with mommy and they now have their ‘planets’ time each time they play.  They lay on the floor and turn off the lights to look at planets on the ceiling.

The projector comes with an activity guide, which was great because we had to learn all the planets before we could teach them to Gradie – I sure didn’t know what each looked like before, so we’ve been learning too.  To change between the images on each disc you simply slide the disc until the next image is visible.

Educational Insights - keeping our kids learning while playing!

In addition to the activity book is 3 discs, totaling 24 images and a stand which holds the projector.  You can easily move the projector ‘ball’ to move the images from the ceiling to the wall or wherever you’re able to project the images.   As you can see in the pictures on this post, you can store the discs in the base of the stand.  Plus the projector is easily portable and Gradie loves carrying it around by the little handle.

At just $24.99 this is a great item to add to your kids toy pile this year.  Of course you can also pick them up over on Amazon.

OF COURSE you should head over to Amazon for the full Learning Resources product page as I am sure you’ll find quite a few more must have learning toys for your kids.
