We are having a blast over here, playing, learning and playing some more. Gradie is 3 years old now and watching her little mind grow and develop each and every day is such a blessing.
Lucky for us we got to test out a couple new 2016 toys from Educational Insights. More playing and learning and we’re excited to share our experiences.

Looking through their new 2016 toys is was very hard to pick out just a couple. I narrowed it down to the Hot Dots® Jr. Famous Fables Interactive Storybook Set, and Brownie Match™ Game.
Educational Insights – Hot Dots® Jr. Famous Fables Interactive Storybook Set
This set brings two of Gradie’s loves together – reading and playing. With the Hot Dots Jr. – for ages 3-6/PreK-1st, your little one will use Ollie, the Talking Teaching Owl pen throughout the four 24-page story books;
- The Tortoise and the Hare,
- The Lion and the Mouse,
- The Ant and the Grasshopper, and
- The City Mouse and the Country Mouse.
Each story book has 11 early learning activities. As your little one works through the books they’re learning important life lessons, working on their understanding of numbers, counting, patterns & rhymes – to name a few.
We love working through the books together but Gradie is also able to work on the books on her own. Encouraging self-paced learning is great because we know that not all kids are the same.
The Ollie Owl pen lights up and has 17 speech & sound-effect responses. I am sure your little ones will love it as much as Gradie does.
You can order this Hot Dots Jr. interactive learning set for just $24.99 from the Educational Insights website, PLUS you can grab a great deal when you shop on Amazon.
Educational Insights – Brownie Match™ Game
A great way to work on developing your child’s memory. They’ll work on making matches – simply spin the spinner and try to flip the brownie that has the matching number under it. This game is doubly as exciting for Gradie as she loves playing pretend food and this game allows her to ‘dish up’ her food while playing the game.
To keep the game extra exciting you’ll have to watch out for special spins where you burn the brownies or spill the milk – resulting in losing a turn or a brownie.
The winner is declared when a winner has made 5 successful matches – thereby earning 5 brownies.
It’s a relatively simple game, but that is what I like about it. No batteries, or massive set up etc. It’s the perfect game to stick under the tree for the little one in your life these holidays!!

I think that Brownie Match game is so clever and looks so yummy! Kids can relate to food! Plus the young ones understand that spilling the milk, & burning the brownies are not good! So it seems, no words are necessary to explain to them about the object of the game. So there is a lot of time for FUN!!
