After he left they’d take us outside and they had a tower near their house that flashed a red light, my grandpa always told us it was Rudolphs nose haha. Everyone holiday was just so special with my grandparents, I miss them. Always tons of family, lots of food, fun, games, laughs.

My grandfather lived in Florida when I was younger. We used to drive to his house for our two-week Christmas break from school. While my friends were dealing with snow and cold, we had fun in the sun and spent time with my grandparents. My grandparent’s house was set up with an apartment in the back half, and they also had a small guest house behind. Most of the time one or the other wasn’t occupied when we were visiting, so we had our own place. One year when we were staying in the guest house, my brother and I had so much fun. We got especially close that year and I can remember just playing card games and listening to the radio (in part, to hear the update on Santa’s ETA). That one year was just so much fun, and that was the year that the song “Snoopy’s Christmas” was playing constantly on the radio. My brother, Joe, passed about 14 years later from cancer. To this date not only is it one of my favorite Christmas memories, but one of my favorite memories of Joe.
