We were very lucky to be asked to attend Beach Bash at Valleyfair on July 30th, and I cannot wait to tell you all about it.
For this visit we got to bring our two nephews, Garrett and Blake, along to have fun with Gradie, we were all so excited. Another great day of Valleyfair firsts and memory making.
We arrived around 11am and made our way over to Soak City. Along the way we stopped to say hi to Peppermint Patty while passing through Planet Snoopy, Blake loved her but Gradie wasn’t so sure, so I got to be in the photo too.
After we spent a little time on the ‘jumpy house’ we made it to Soak City. We got out the sunscreen, lathered up and the kids went running into the water. Luckily Garrett is older so he was a great help in keeping an eye on the younger kids.
[Side note: Garrett doesn’t like photos so I honored his request to not be included in this post].
I was lucky enough to get these two still enough for a picture. The smaller kids are required to wear a life jacket in the wave pool and adult lazy river, which are available for you to use inside Soak City.
With Blake’s encouragement Gradie got a lot closer to the little fountain spraying as you enter the wave pool. She wanted nothing to do with them during our last visit the month before. It is fun watching your little ones grow and try new things.
Once we headed over to the smaller child pool area, complete with their own version of the lazy river, they were able to take their life jackets off and go have fun. As you can see below Blake absolutely loved that this lazy river was just his size and he was able to do it all by himself!!
Of course enjoying a water park with a 3 and 4 year old we aren’t going on all of the ‘big people’ rides that Soak City has to offer, but there are a bunch of really great rides.
We focus our time on the splash pad, the kids pool and the wave pool where the kids feel safe and can have the most fun.
While we were walking around Soak City, enjoying Beach Bash, we were able to enjoy the kids music performers and and dancing. Gradie & Blake loved showing us that they’re talented dancers.
I was also happy to see the food booth where the roast pig would be. I had been thinking about this pulled pork sandwich since I knew I was going to be attending.
After swimming for a few hours we headed back through Planet Snoopy which is geared towards smaller kids. Lots of rides that makes a trip to Valleyfair the perfect family event for kids of all ages!
One amenity of the park that I didn’t know about before is the family resource ‘house’. I entered to use the restroom and was blown away. As a mother who breastfed her daughter for 29 months finding an area like this, pictured below, is simply wonderful.
With private areas to nurse, diaper changing area, high chairs, and a TV area for your older kids to wait, this area truly is designed for the whole family. PLUS, it’s air conditioned, which is huge in the humid, muggy MN summers.
Now that you got to hear all about the fun we had be sure to check out all the remaining fun events happening at Valleyfair this summer and into the fall. There’s something fun for everyone in your family – click here to see the full list. Of course there’s a lot of
