SuperHealos Hospital Adventure Kit – Making Children Feel Like Superheroes! #SpringGuide

June 5, 2016 By Africa

Review disclosure

We all hope for our children to be happy and healthy, unfortunately however, that isn’t the case for everyone.  There are kids out there that face differing levels of medical issues which can be scary and intimidating.  This is where SuperHealos steps in!

SuperHealos Hospital Adventure Kit - Making Children Feel Like Superheroes!! #SpringGuide

SuperHealos is dedicated to helping your child reduce their stress and anxiety as they face medical challenges.  The great people over at SuperHealos have released the Hospital Adventure Kit, which is the first in a series of medical related kits.

 The kit works to focus on your child’s imagination and willingness to play that comes in fun packaging and is full of goodies to help your child through some of their hardest times.  The kit contains;

  • Magical adventure storybook
  • Superhero Cape (blue or pink)
  • Coloring pages w/8 different designs
  • 3 Fabric markers

We are blessed with a relatively healthy 3 year old but this kit actually came in really handy as we received it a couple days before Gradie got a case of strep.  We had spent time checking out the kit, coloring the pages and reading the adventure book, ‘SuperHealos Hospital Adventures: Monkey Madness’.

Then we had to visit the doctor, which Gradie doesn’t like to do (who does), and throwing in a strep test sure doesn’t help.  As we were getting ready to leave for the appointment she asked if she could bring her superhero cape with her, to ‘help’ her at the doctor.  I was surprised but also happy that in the time we’d taken to play with the kit she understood what it was used for.

The storybook is aimed for children 7+, but Gradie absolutely loved having it read to her.  She enjoyed following along as Dash and Lily as they use their magical capes to bring the ‘doctor stuff’ to life and work on solving mysteries.

The superhero cape that comes in the hospital kit is definitely Gradie’s favorite part and I can see how children who face these medical challenges would love it as they can have their friends, doctors and nurses sign their capes, just like a cast on a broken bone.  Plus – who doesn’t like feeling like a superhero?  🙂

One thing to note is that the fabric markers that come with your child’s cape will bleed through, so when you’re having it signed/decorated be sure to put the cape on a piece of cardboard, or something similar, to absorb any colors that do bleed through.

    This is such a great idea! Anything that reduces apprehension about medical visits is a wonderful thing. It keeps them distracted, too. Which is good so you can focus on getting them better!
