I have spring cleaning, and yard work to do. Bummer, huh? But, we will cook-out, and my daughter is home for the weekend.

My family and friends are coming over for a late lunch. Early in Am there is a parade to the cemetery in our small town to remember what this holiday is about. Our cemetery band has a veteran section that goes back to the early 1800’s and a civil war general killed in action was buried here. A WWII medal of honor also buried here. In our smaller near town is buried a young soldier who died in Iraq 2007. Every Memorial Day weekend the town does a Memorial Run/Mud run and baseball game. Since he died every football game he is remembered and his number is on the end zone. Freedom doesn’t come free.
