I am sure all mothers have promises they have made to their children and I am no different. I am pretty sure I have made multiple promises to her and I wanted to share one with you. A promise that is very close to my heart and something I am determined to follow through with.
As you all know I am South African by birth, I lived there for 19 years before coming to the USA to go to college. When I left, I left behind everything I ever knew and started out new – at barely 19 years old.
I have no family in the USA, my closest relative is in the United Kingdom. I have got used to living my life this way, I have a great family I married into and for that I am forever grateful.
However, once I had a child I realized just how much I miss my family. Of course I knew I missed them, we are a very close family and being away from them has always been challenging, but realizing they are missing out on my daughter growing up really pulls at my heart strings. What hurts even more is that my daughter is growing up not really knowing her family that live far away.
That is why my Mothers Promise to her is to teach her what her heritage is, where it is her mama comes from and very importantly to teach her all about her family who don’t live near us.
When I was looking for ways to assist me achieve my Mothers Promise I found a great DIY Acrylic Frame Family Album craft. I immediately got excited about this, we could make this album together, going through photos, making fun pages for each of my brother’s families and my parents too, Gradie’s grandparents. Now that the family album is complete we keep it around the house, we go through the pages daily, most days more than once.
Gradie is really smart (don’t all mothers say), she is really great with remembering things and she gets so excited and proud of herself as she remembers different family members and I love telling her all about each of them and why they all mean so much to me. By having the family album visible and displayed I am always reminded of my promise to Gradie and work on following through as often as possible.
Be sure to head over to my tutorial post that shows you, step-by-step, how to make an acrylic frame family album. I know that your kids will love doing this with you – we definitely did!
As I mentioned, I have a lot of promises for my daughter and another one I wanted to share with you is that I promise to always give her the very best I possibly can. To follow through on this promise I have found Pampers Premium Care Diapers. These premium products are available at Walmart and Walmart.com.
These diapers are a top tier, very high quality diaper. 5 Star skin care, they are; hypoallergenic, have a wetness indicator, a unique absorb away liner, breathable inside & out, extra absorb channels- what more could you ask for? They are available in sizes newborn through 4, that means you can use these diapers for your child until they top 30 pounds. Gradie is 2.5 and is still under 30 pounds, she’s a peanut. We are loving using these diapers, I just wish we’d found them sooner, they’re so great for her sensitive skin.
Make sure you Like Pampers on Facebook and follow them on Twitter and comment below what is your mothers promise??

still you and her doing it together.
Those Pamper diapers also sound amazing for all the babies out there. Thank you for the information.
