    So much of what he taught is still so relevant. I think the world could learn alot by studying Martin Luther King Jr.

    MLK Day means equality to me. Ever since I was little, celebrating this day was a reminder of how hard African Americans had to fight to gain equal rights. It is a commemoration of the commitment and devotion Martin Luther King Jr. and his movement put forth to end the suffering and injustice that segregation and prejudice caused. Even now, MLK Day motivates me to keep pushing towards equal rights and fair treatment of all people.

    I was ten years old when Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered. It changed my life forever. My father worked for Civil Rights his whole life and he was never the same when Rev. King, who shaped the movement for racial justice in the South, was killed.
