Mediflow Waterbase Pillows – The perfect gift these holidays
I was so tired of not sleeping well, that deep sleep that gets you the real rest we need. We run after our kids all day, at night we deserve to ‘sleep like a baby!’ I have battled with extreme neck pain for a long time now and I have attempted many different pillows along the way, all with no success, until I received a Mediflow Waterbase Pillow.
Finally I have found the relief I so badly needed, I can honestly say I’ve slept more deeply and pain free, in the past couple weeks then I have in months!! I am sure you’re reading waterbase pillow and saying ‘water what’? Don’t worry I was confused at first too, until I did my research that is.
The Mediflow Waterbase water pillow is the only therapeutic pillow clinically shown, in a published peer-reviewed study, to improve quality of sleep and reduce neck pain. I will be the first to say, I don’t always understand all the technical jargon surrounding things like this, but what I can tell you is that IT WORKS!! I encourage you to read the study linked above to learn more, and I’ll explain my personal experience with the Mediflow pillows below.
We were lucky enough to receive the Mediflow Original Waterbase Pillow and the Mediflow Original Memory Gel Foam Waterbase Pillow. Jeanna and I got to testing them out as soon as they arrived. We followed the instructions to fill the pillow with water, which is actually really easy to do. We both chose to fill the pillow to the ‘medium’ support level and luckily for both of us this has been the perfect support level we needed, but if you needed to add or remove water it too is easy to do, I tested doing both to be able to speak to it in this review.
With the Original Waterbase Pillow you are able to machine wash and dry it which is a definite plus, not more icky pillow gunk collecting on your pillow. You can also purchase a Mediflow Anti-Allergen Pillow Protector which protects against common allergy triggers and stops the formation of mold, mildew or fungus. The waterbase adjusts to your heads movements while you are sleeping and it helps you stay asleep. No more waking to ‘re-fluff’ your pillow.
One of my initial thoughts was about the water, about hearing the water move around while you’re asleep. I am happy to report that you don’t hear a thing!! The only time I’ve heard anything with this pillow is when I pick up the entire pillow to move it to make the bed etc.
The Mediflow Memory Gel Foam waterbase pillow is different to other memory foam pillows I have tried. It’s not too firm, but also not too soft and you can adjust the waterbase to add or remove the support to the level that works best for you. As with the Original pillow, the pillow adjusts to how your head moves while sleeping, keeping you comfortable and most importantly ASLEEP!!
To fill the pillow with water they provide you with a little tool to open the waterbase cap. Once it is removed you place the tool into the cap opening and it doubles as a funnel where you pour in the water to the desired level of support, with the pillow standing up.
Once you’ve added water use your hand to gently push on the outside of the pillow to locate the top of the water level, then gently remove the excess air from the base and replace the cap, using the tool to get it tightly shut.
You can pick up these pillows, and others, from the Mediflow website and of course from Amazon.com. You can pick up the Mediflow Original Waterbase Pillow for $34.99 and the Mediflow Original Memory Gel Foam Waterbase Pillow for $59.99. The anti-allergen pillow protector is just $9.99 and a great idea to keep your pillow in it’s best shape, I love mine!!
While you’re online ordering your Mediflow pillows be sure to also follow them via Facebook and Twitter, your sleep depends on it!

I love the idea of a pillow that doesn’t get flat over use! I can’t begin to tell you how much money I’ve spent on pillows, trying to find one that lasts for more than a few weeks till my neck starts hurting. Mediflow sounds like a great pillow!

It’s nice to know you didn’t hear the water sloshing. I remember that from an old water bed. thanks for a great revew & giveaway!

Two things you mentioned in your review I was wondering about, whether you can machine wash the pillow and if the sound of the water sloshing around inside the pillow is bothersome. It’s good to know that you can machine wash it and the sound of the water won’t keep a person up all night.
Sandra Watts says
Sound like it would be a really comfortable pillow you can adjust to your liking.

I like that you can machine wash the pillow and I am hoping it would help me with my insomnia.
