I recently shared with you how Healthy Ones is supporting the fight against breast cancer by supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), if you missed that post click HERE to check it out.
I was lucky enough to host a little gathering at my home to showcase Healthy Ones as well as their partnership and to help raise funds for this amazing cause.
For our gathering I had a couple friends pick out some fun recipes that we could use to make appetizers, using Healthy Ones deli meats. I thought that having an array of appetizers would be a fun way to make some delicious food, using high quality deli meats and gather over food to talk about all the amazing things the BCRF is doing to support the fight against breast cancer and how Healthy Ones has supported their cause.
The appetizers we made, all featuring Healthy Ones Deli Meats are showcased below;
Turkey & apple cracker stacks
Ingredients
- 2oz Healthy Ones turkey deli meat
- 6 butter crackers
- ½ thinly sliced apple
- ¼ sliced cucumber
- Optional – delicatessen style mustard
Directions
- Cut each slice of turkey into 3 strips.
- Layer the apple, turkey and cucumber onto the cracker and serve.
- For added flavor, add a drop of Delicatessen Style Mustard to each cracker.
Healthy Sandwich Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 package of slider buns
- 1 Lettuce (your choice)
- 1 container cherry/grape tomatoes
- Healthy Ones Ham and/or Turkey Deli Meat
- Low fat/fat free mayonnaise (optional)
Directions
- Slice slider buns
- Place lettuce leaf into bun
- Plate slice of ham and/or turkey into bun
- Slice tomatoes and place on top of deli meats
- You can add some low fat/fat free mayo to your slider, optional
An alternative to the slider is to use the same ingredients and place them inside a couple lettuce leaves and create a lettuce wrap.
Pickle wrap dip
Ingredients
- 16oz cream cheese (softened)
- 12oz chopped ham
- 4-6 diced baby dill pickles
- Beaumont spice (to taste)
Directions
- Ensure ham and pickles are chopped
- Mix all ingredients
- Place dip inside lettuce leaf and roll up.
Alternatives to this recipe are to place the mixture inside a slide of ham or turkey. As you can see pictured, we also took a half a cucumber, cut it in half, hollowed it out, placed a slice or two of ham/turkey, then the pickle roll up mixture, another slice or two of deli meat and placed the top half of the cucumber to complete a ‘cucumber sandwich’. Both are great alternatives, make for great appetizers and are good for you!!
I encourage you to head over to the Healthy One’s website to learn more about their amazing deli meats. Also check them out on Facebook and click HERE to find a location near you where you can pick up Healthy Ones Deli Meats.
Remember – you can make donations to the BCRF by clicking here – which is what my guests did, as we all believe in and support such a great cause.

I’d use mustard instead of the mayonnaise in my sliders.
