We know, and celebrate, our kids big important milestones as we rightfully should!! BUT what about those milestones that one would consider less, or under-celebrated?
You know what I mean?? The first time your little one has a ‘phone call’ with a loved one, the first time they try to ‘help’ cook their meal but decided to rather turn your pots and pans into their personal rock band, these milestones, while not as momentous as taking a first step, or uttering their first word, should be celebrated too!! To celebrate these fun moments I am excited to share a few of Gradie’s under-celebrated milestones with you.
Gradie’s first doughnut eating experience.
First time Gradie’s first time shopping for her own clothing.
Gradie’s first time using a Hula Hoop.
Of course there are many more milestones that Gradie has reached and we have celebrated, either by photos and videos shared with family and friends, or by privately celebrating her achievements with her at home or when they took place.
Celebrating these less significant moments is a lot of fun and in today’s day and age of instant photos and video they are easier to document and share, but we obviously still need to pay attention to our little ones milestones and when they’re reaching them. Are they on track with what is expected, should we be concerned about anything along the way.
As new mom’s I know that Jeanna and I have had many questions along the way and have wondered should Gradie be doing this or that yet? Is she behind? Is she ahead?
This is why I am excited to share with you that VTech has created the Expert Panel and Milestones. This panel consists of four experts who have broken down milestones by ages, ranging from newborn until nine years old. Each of these age ranges are broken down into thee following categories;
- Language and Cognitive
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical and Motor
The milestones information includes product recommendations for what VTech learning toys will be the best match for your child at the specific age they are at to help them reach their milestones as they grow, and they grow so fast!! Read on to see what products we received (pictured below) to test out and how they can be used to help your little one reach their important milestones. Learning while playing – GENIUS!!!

VTech® Sit-to-Stand Ultimate Alphabet Train™
Gradie loves her Alphabet Train – I battle to get her off of it most every day since we received it. She is able to play ten different activities while learning letters, numbers, colors and more. Her favorite right now is counting the blocks as she sticks them into the hole of the train and have them shoot out the bottom and into the caboose.
- The train helps build motor skills with six manipulative features including a storybook, clock, gears and 13 double-sided letter blocks that little ones can plug into the side of the train to learn letters and build their vocabulary – as you can see in the pictures below.
- When little conductors get older, the caboose converts into a wagon they can fill with toys and pull along to develop gross motor skills

- Drawing activities teach little artists how to progress from lines to simple shapes and how to draw more than 40 different objects

- For your kids aged 3-6 years for just $24.99 over at Amazon another great product at a reasonable price!!
VTech® Spinning Lights Learning Hippo™
Another toy that we can’t get Gradie to stop playing with and why would we want her to? She’s playing and as you can see in the picture below she is having a great time. What she doesn’t know is that she is learning while she’s having fun – I see this as a WIN-WIN!! I absolutely love how Gradie sings along to the Hippo song, singing H-I-P-P-O.
- This first vocabulary builder uses moving lights with six fun activities for language development
- Kids can spin the lights around the alphabet circle to learn about letters, phonics, objects, animals and more
- In music mode, they can move the rolling ball to add five fun sounds effects to 26 cheerful melodies
