Are you a new mom? If so, then you’ve got it before, we’ve all got it! What is IT I hear you asking…….
Unsolicited advice
It sure does seem that everyone has an opinion these days, and they aren’t afraid to share it with you! I often wonder what it is that parents did before they were able to receive all of this so called advice, from so many sources.
I mean today we have social media and everyone is able to express exactly what it is they’re thinking. Then we have the Internet, good old Google has changed the way the world ‘thinks’. Let’s not even get into everyone out there writing books about just how it is you should raise YOUR child.
I don’t know about you but my parents did a pretty good job raising me, and their parents before them. They didn’t have this constant stream of advice thrown at them every single time they picked up, changed, or fed us.
This is why I am so excited to join forces with Tommee Tippee in their #ParentOn campaign. We all know that our family loves everything Tommee Tippee as we’ve worked with them since Gradie was a newborn and we continue to today.
Have you heard about the Parent On campaign? Tommee Tippee conducted a study of 1,000 moms of children aged 0 to 6 and the results showed that a staggering 56% of moms felt overwhelmed by the never-ending stream of parenting advice. What they really want is practical help!!
I can attest to this, as new mom’s Jeanna and I received a lot of unsolicited advice, especially as it related to our reflux and colicky daughter. In addition, I chose to breastfeed Gradie, and I still do (she is 25 months old) if I had a dollar for every time someone told me how to do it or later in our breastfeeding journey for every time I have been asked, “You’re still doing that??!!”
If you were to search online for parenting advice you’ll get back roughly 103 million articles. As Chris Parsons, President of Tommee Tippee North America and father to three children under the age of four, says, “A hyper-parenting culture has made raising a child much more confusing than it should be. But really, after all is said and done, the best way to raise a child is your way.”
So what has Tommee Tippee done to try help mom’s out there?
Take a look at the video they created to introduce their ADVICE WIPES – ‘Made from real overwhelming baby advice!!’
That’s right that is what you can do with the often unsolicited, often untrue, often unnecessary baby advice 😉 !!
Tommee Tippee is best known for its award winning bottle design, however, the company’s mission is simple: to make everyday life easier for families everywhere. They are now expanding this philosophy with the launch of Parent On, a multi-platform conversation where parents can share real parenting moments and find judgment-free support – not more advice.
Their goal is to champion a new normal, a new way of thinking and talking about parenting because at the end of the day…………

This is great! There is a huge difference between unsolicited advice and advice asked for. Drives me crazy!
