Britax ClickTight Convertible Car Seat Recall Information
On August 13th, 2015 Britax announced that it would be voluntarily recalling select Advocate ClickTight, Marathon ClickTight, and Boulevard ClickTight seats. The recall is for seats manufactured between August 1, 2014 and July 29, 2015. This affects seats in the United States and Canada.
Seats manufactured during this time frame may have a defect with the harness adjuster knob, which can be a safety issue. The knob may remain in the release position, allowing the shoulder straps to loosen while in use. This is not a return recall, but a repair recall. Britax will send a repair kit with a remedy to seat owners. You can continue to use your seat prior to the arrival of the remedy kit, as long as you are not experiencing issues with the seat.

The following model numbers are included:
Of course, as with any recall there is a lot of unnecessary confusion surrouding it – is your seat impacted? What should I do if it is? To limit some of this confusion Britax posted this on their Facebook page regarding a YouTube video they made to help explain the problem. I have shared both below;
I am sure there are a lot of anxious parents out there wanting to know if their Britax ClickTight Convertible Car Seats are impacted or not. If you need more information/if your questions aren’t asnwered in the information provided above you can email Britax at; Britax.Recall@britax.com, or call 1-888-427-4829.
I also ask that you consider the fact that the people answering the phones are not directly responsible for any flaws in your child’s car seat and they’re attempting to help the roughly 200,000 people that could be impacted by this repair recall, so be patient as the hold will likely be long and remember Britax is doing the RIGHT THING here by issuing this voluntary recall to keep our children safe!!!
