Maxi-Cosi Maxi-Taxi Review! #MaxiCosiTarget

May 29, 2015 By Africa

Maxi-Cosi Maxi-Taxi Review!

I posted recently about my experience ordering my Maxi Taxi from Target.com, you can read the post HERE.   Now the shipment of this order was delayed, however Target was very upfront in the status, the delay, when we could expect delivery, complete with updates along the way.  Now that I’ve received and used the Maxi-Cosi Maxi-Taxi I can understand why these were out of stock for a while.  They are amazing strollers.  All of the claims that Maxi-Cosi makes regarding the Maxi-Taxi are accurate and my experience using it has being nothing but positive.

Right out of the box this stroller was fantastic.  Fantastic because it required NO tools to put it together.  I am not a big user of tools, if it requires tools to assemble it becomes Jeanna or my father in law’s problem .  I was able to assemble the stroller (attaching wheels etc.) entirely by myself, with a toddler running around, attempting to steal stuff from me.  It was really easy, the instructions were basic and illustrated everything perfectly.

Maxi Cosi Maxi Taxi Stroller stand alone

You had to attach the front and back wheels, the parent tray, the cup holder and the attachments for the car seat.  The back wheels have a brake system that requires you pay attention when attaching them, but it was still easy to do and that really was the most ‘challenging’ part of the entire assembly.

Maxi-Cosi claims that the Maxi-Taxi is Light. Quick. Easy. Done.  I could not agree more.  The Maxi-Taxi is extremely light, folding it up and opening it up for use is quick and very easy, then you’re done, you stroll away with your little one safely and snuggly in their infant carrier or you fold up your stroller and place it in your trunk, where it’ll take up hardly any room because it folds up so compactly.

Maxi-Taxi Product features:

  • Extremely easy to fold/unfold
  • 3D sliding fold
  • Lightweight frame
  • Maxi-Cosi adapters included. Accepts Maxi-Cosi Mico® and Prezi infant car seats to create a compact, maneuverable travel system
  • Parent cup holder
  • Zippered Parent Tray keeps smaller items close at hand
  • Storage basket for larger items

Extremely easy to fold/unfold, 3D sliding fold and Lightweight frame

I don’t think that it could be easier to fold/unfold.  It isn’t one of those stroller that requires you have some kind of engineering degree to be able to use it.  It easily folds up when done and take a look at how company it folds up.  It takes up barely any room in your trunk, so you can actually put something else in there too, not just the stroller.  What I really like is that you don’t have to take up weightlifting to be able to put it into/take it out of your vehicle, it is much lighter than other frame strollers I’ve used.

I also received the Mico NXT infant carrier to really give the Maxi-Taxi a test run of it’s functionality.  The carrier is easy to attach to the Maxi-Taxi as well as really easy to remove.  I felt completely safe attaching the carrier to the stroller, I even gave it a good test of going fast, stopping, and maneuvering and at no point did I feel that the carrier might slip or dislodge from the stroller.  Then Gradie wanted to push her doll around and let me tell you a toddler sure gives this stroller a great test run, considering she can’t see where she’s going 🙂

Parent cup holder

I think this one is pretty self explanatory.  There just needs to be a cupholder and most frame stroller don’t have them, but the Maxi-Taxi does.  Of course it warns you to not place hot drinks in the cup holder, but that’s a no brainer, you wouldn’t want to burn your little one.

Zippered Parent Tray keeps smaller items close at hand

This might be one of my favorite features 🙂 .  I love that there is a storage compartment called the Parent Tray.  Take a look at the pictures below, you’ll see how great it is.  It easily stores your wallet, your keys, your phone and still has room for your little ones pacifier, some wipes, and a couple other odds and ends that make life easier to have close, within arms reach.   The top picture shows what the Parent Tray looks like (this is photographed from below).  The middle picture shows the tray when it is zippered open and the bottom picture shows how it conveniently clips open so you don’t have to battle to get stuff in/out but then you can also securely zipper it shut to keep everything contained.  I am sure you can see why this is one of my favorite features – anything that makes our lives easier when you’re navigating the world with an infant is a WIN in my book!

That is pretty nice. Back when I was pushing around strollers, they were heavy and awkward to get into stores or in and out of the house.
