Puritan’s Pride Essential Oil
Review & Mother’s Day Giveaway!!
I’m sure many of you have heard a thing or two about essential oils; after all, it’s all the rage in my mommy groups 🙂 I am not going to lie, when I first started hearing about it I didn’t quite get the hype. Jeanna and I spoke about them when Ms. Gradie came along. We read a lot about the use of oils to help a baby sleep and how some can help with aches and pains. Anything is worth a try.
We started small by dropping a few drops of lavender oil in Gradie’s bath in the evening. We loved the smell and Gradie didn’t seem to mind so we started to diffuse it her room before bedtime. I can’t say that it worked miracles but I can say that when we don’t diffuse before bed she tends to be restless and wake throughout the night. Lavender oil has been traditionally used for tranquility, serenity and meditation.
If you have used essential oils or know someone who has, you know there can me many different opinions about what “essential” is… I am not going to begin to explain what it means to me. I am not going to get into a Brand battle either, however, I am going to tell you I have tried several brands of oils; some are amazing, others not so much. Most recently, Puritan’s Pride, and they are good oils.
Puritan’s Pride has one mission, Healthy Choices for Healthy Living; they are here to offer you the tools to make healthy choices. Their number goal is to provide information to make informed decisions about your health and wellness. I am here to share my opinion.
Jeanna and I needed to refill our oil stash so we got Rosewood, Lemongrass, Geranium, Bergamot and our most favorite Lavender. At first, I was skeptical the oils seemed thinner than I was used to but in the end I used less drops in the diffusers and bath than the others. We mainly use the oils for aromatherapy so this was actually a great for us. If you use oils for massage or pain relief just know they are thinner than the more command brands of oils but when combined with a carrier worked great!
Ok, onto my newest ‘bandwagon’ mommy thing I we are doing… Jeanna and I made a bug spray with the new Lemongrass oil. Spring has sprung and we have been spending our evenings with Gradie on the deck and Minnesota’s state bird (The MOSQUITO) has already made his appearance. So again, we have never tried it before but have been waiting to give it a try. We mixed an 8 ounce bottle about half filled with distilled water and the other (almost to the top) half with witch hazel, than added about 30 drops of Lemongrass and BAM… instant “clean” bug spray!
If you have ever wanted to try essential oils I suggest you jump on the bandwagon now. Puritan’s Pride has a great deal going right now… Most oils are Buy One, Get one 50% off AND I have a coupon code you to get $5 off a $25 order, use code AROMAMD. Make sure you do your research and choose an oil you have always wanted to try and just go for it. I never thought I would be making a homemade bug spray and I did and LOVE IT!

My uses an array of essential oils, but the best one is oregano, which is what I would use, too. Simply because it is so effective! I had a cold and my mom gave me a handful of capsules with the oregano oil, and I took 2 a day for 3 days. NOTHING has cleared my cold(s) like that before. Absolutely nothing. So that’s would I would use!

Thanks so much for the Fantastic Review on Puritan’s Pride Essential Oil! I hear all over the place anymore about these essential oils and I would love to try some. I’ve entered several contests to win some, however, lady luck hasn’t been too good to me lately! Your Giveaway only has an hour over 1 day and I wouldn’t even stand a chance to enter it now. I keep looking at them and reading about them and some day I’ll get me some to try! We are really terribly financially strapped right now so I can’t purchase any because they are not a necessity! I’m glad that you gave the lavender a try and really loved it as well as making the bug spray – Does it really work? Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your fantastic review, the pictures, and your personal and professional information on Puritan’s Pride Essential Oil Review with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂
