Rolos! I would get them when we went to watch my brother’s baseball games. They melted too quickly for the summer but were great for spring
Root beer barrels…because we used to able to walk to a store that sold for a nickel (or maybe 2 for a nickle?) and it was always fun to be able to buy candy with your own money!

I used to get them in the mornings, before school, at the little candy shop across the way 
Raisinets bring back memories. My dad used to own a gas station and whenever we’d visit him my sister and I always got to share a bag of Raisinets. Nik-l-nips also bring back summertime memories from when I was REALLY little.. little enough to think chewing on the wax was fun and tasted good, ewww.

Junior Mints brings back good memories for me. I remember going to the movies with my mom and she would buy me the huge box of Junior Mints
We had an old fashioned penny candy store where I lived. My late mom would take my brother and I every week to pick out something special. Some of my favorites were candy necklaces and the dot candy that came on paper

Mallow Cups bring back memories. When I was young we would stop at a small store and be given a quarter to pick out a candy bar or bag of penny candy.
Swedish Fish make me think of childhood, because they were my sister’s favorite, and I just simply adored my sister.
Candy buttons. We would all get a strip to see who could eat theirs the fastest.
Reese’s peanut butter cups because I remember getting them for Halloween
I remember going to the corner store and buying wax lips, candy cigarettes and the dot candy on paper strips.

Abba-zabas remind me of childhood because my grandpa would sometimes surprize me with one after school.
I remember stocking up on Boston Baked Beans and Lemon Drops for the movie theater in Brooklyn.
Junior Mints bring back memories of Saturdays at the movies. I always got popcorn and Junior Mints.
Bottlecaps. My sister and I would walk to the country store near our grandparents farm and buy these.
This is a lot of candy, all of my favorites, my favorite as a child were babe Ruths
Fudgies. They were little rectangles of yummy caramel fudge – YUM! Also Jerseymilk bars.

The flavored Tootsie Rolls, Swedish Fish and Sour Patch kids! My friends and I used to stop at the store on our way to school and use our lunch money to buy penny candy!

Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum! My brother and i saved up the comics and sent them in for cool prizes!
My mom used to always hunt down Zero bars for me because they were my favorite and hard to find. Now whenever I see one I have to have it!
Bottle caps! My brother and I use to fight over the root beer caps!
My grandma used to give me Hershey bars with almonds. She had great instincts!

When I was young I ate ” black cows” and sugar babies. Good memories
I remember Turkish taffy, Sugar Daddies, Sugar Mamas. Sugar Babies, candy necklaces, candy cigarettes ( and no, I didn’t grow up to smoke the real thing!)
Swedish Fish because it reminds me of when I used to go to get penny candy at the store.
Sugar Daddy, because I remember getting those when I was little and the long string of caramel it makes when you bite it.
Sixlets are a favorite of mine. There’s just something about them. I can’t put my finger on it.

I used to love Tootsie Rolls until one day I ate so many I threw up. After that I never could stand them.
Hershey bars were a favorite-you could break off sections, and share with your friends, if you were feeling generous-and they only cost a nickel back then!
The candy that brings back the most memories for me is sweedish fish we had a neighborhood drug store that sold penny candy and we would scrounge around and go up and down the streets looking for change on the ground when we got some we would run in and get penny candy I always got the sweedish fish and they would put them in a little tiny brown bag those were the good ole days!
Those candy necklaces and candy cigarettes take me right back to childhood!
Charleston Chew brings back memories of my gradnparents…. they always had some of those in the freezer. Also Mallow Cups and root beer barrels will always remind me of my dad, they were his favorites.
Laffy Taffy always brings back memories. I used to love, love, love the yellow!
Mounds and Almond Joy bring back memories from my younger years because I always had trouble deciding between the two.
One candy that reminds me of my youth is the little flying saucers with teeny candies inside. We used to get these at the corner store when we were little!
Tootsie rolls bring back memories for me. My mom used to take us to the afternoon movies on weekends and she always gave us penny candy in a bag to take in. (That’s before they stopped letting you bring your own, lol) There were always tootsie rolls in there, the long skinny medium sized, which you can’t find too much anymore.
I go way back to the Penny Candy Days. My Sister and I would get a Quarter Allowance every week. We would go to the corner Penny Candy Store and buy a bag full of candy for our quarter. I remember the little Black licorice records with a small piece of hard candy in the middle. Loved them. Chocolate licorice sticks. The little wax bottles filled with a liquid drink. The Paper strips with different colored little candies stuck to it. Candy Bars were a Nickel. I loved 3 Musketeer Bars, Mars Almond Bars, & Mounds Coconut Bars. Such Good Memories of a long time ago! :0)~~~
Chuckles! When I was young, I used to buy Chuckles at the corner store and loved eating them.
When I was very young could get the 5th Avenue and also the Milky Ways for 5 cents each. Those days are long gone.
Milk Duds. I didn’t go to the movies much, but my dad would always get Milk Duds when we went.
The DumDum lollipops that drive-through bank tellers always had on hand to give kids… Nowadays — maybe because so many kids have food allergies — they just give out dog biscuits.
Nestles Crunch. I used to love that stuff.
Mary Jane’s bring back childhood memories as we used to get them whenever we visited the neighborhood store.
I miss the butterscotch candy and licorice whips from the 5 cent jars. I also miss corner candy stores.
Twix does because it has two inside, one for me and my sister to share from one wrapper.
For me it is Chick-o-Sticks. I used to buy those at the store when my mom took us grocery shopping. I miss them.

Bottle caps were one of my favorites. I think it was because I wasn’t allowed a lot of soda so I felt like I was sneaking some.

Charleston Chew! When our family went grocery shopping (usually every couple or few weeks), my sister & I were always allowed to pick out a candy bar at the end. And I usually picked Charleston Chew because they lasted soooooo long and seemed soooo big! They were delicious!
I loved the candy necklaces! They were so fun! Especially how they made your neck turn all different colors
My dad always brought home Sky Bars from Necco home for me for a special treat. It is the one that had the four different flavors in one bar. He would always let me choose my two favorite and he would eat the other two. I always choose the fudge and the caramel. It was our special treat!
Hershey’s Cookie’s and Cream chocolate bars!!!! They were my favorite — I liked anything that was cookies and cream!

Those colored sugar dots on a sheet of paper remind me of my childhood. I’m almost certain the ice cream truck that came down the alley would sell them.
Sixlets and chico sticks bring me back to wen I was young buying 5 or 10 cent candies at Albertsons with my brothers and sister.

there used to be a twisty, braidy candy bar called marathon… it was caramel covered in milk chocolate and it was soooo chewy. I havent seen it in years, but i sure would love one.
I always love the hershey kisses, because my grandmother and I used to make peanut butter cookies with them.

Charleston Chews always bring back happy memories! I used to get them with my dad, the strawberry ones, which I can never find anymore.

Mary Janes and Bit O Honey candies always bring back memories of growing up. On payday my dad would always bring my sisters and I each a bag of candy with these in it. We looked forward to it every week.
I have fond memories of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. They were my favorite and I loved that the wrappers came in beautiful colors during the spring time.
I always loved Fruit Stripe gum because it tasted so good. I found some at the Dollar Tree and was so surprised because I thought they stopped making it years ago.
Butterscotch and root beer barrels because my Gram always had a handful of each in her purse and she would always give me some whenever I saw her.
Charleston Chews. We used to freeze them for a treat or we would have these as we walked home from school sometimes.
There are many candies that I think of when remembering my childhood. What really stands out are all the penny candies that we used to load up on before the movies. It would be tootsie rolls, bazooka Joe bubble gum, cigar gum, candy cigarettes, jolly rancher sticks, little chocolate balls, and the list goes on.
I just thought of candy necklaces and pot of gold candy , yum and those candy necklaces used to last me sometimes I would just eat one candy a day. ..
Lemon drops remind me of my childhood because they were my Dad’s favorite candy.
