Signing Time Presents Rachel & the TreeSchoolers DVD
Product Review & Giveaway
Two Little Hands Productions has won over Gradie once again. Gradie loves Signing Time and she has the biggest crush on Rachel & the TreesSchoolers! Rachel & the TreeSchoolers is geared for Pre-K and older but Gradie is a genius so she did just great 🙂 (isn’t that what every parent says?!)
Two Little Hands Productions makes award-winning children’s programming featuring Emmy—nominated host, Rachel Coleman. The DVD is based on the educational framework by Emily Swan, Ph. D and teaching your baby over 50 different American Sign Language signs.
Children are able to understand language as early as months, but the ability to speak requires complex fine motor skills that don’t develop until much later. The result is AS WE ALL KNOW pure frustration and possibly a temper tantrum or two, or three, or ten!
On the other hand, the motor skills required to use sign language develop much sooner than spoken language. Children who learn baby sign language can start using signs as early as 6 to 9 months. The result is a baby who can express her wants and needs.
For babies, sign language is a visual language; most basic signs resemble what they mean making it fun and easy for baby to learn. G’s favorite right now is bird; using two fingers you make a beak like a bird in front of your mouth.
Now, on to the DVD… We watched Rachel & the TressSchoolers: Episode 4: Awesome Animals! There is a talent show at the Tree School but Penny isn’t so sure on what her talent is! Rachel helps the TreeSchoolers learn about the awesome things animals can do, Penny discovers that makes her truly special. While delivering a well-rounded preschool curriculum and teaching children HOW TO LEARN new things Rachel explores: What is an animal? What do animals need to live? How do animals move? What do animals eat? And BESIDES OLD MACDONALD’S FARM, where do animals live? The nice thing about this DVD is that the animals are real and not animated. Gradie can see what the animals actually look like, how they move and how they sound! She now mimics most of the animals in the DVD and it is ADORABLE!
Gradie loved the video she stayed engaged for a majority of the time, I credit the music! She loves music dancing and swaying along. The DVD also comes with a CD that has found its way to my truck and plays over and over and over as Gradie hums along 🙂
Two Little Hands Productions has several signing DVD’s as well as package deals for all ages.
