Thinkbaby – Thinkster of Steel ~ Review & Giveaway!! (ends 2/16)

Thinkster of Steel Review

Now onto the review –  the Thinkster is one of their new line of stainless steel bottles, they also have a traditional sippy cup (Sippy of Steel), a bottle (Thinkbaby of Steel) and the straw bottle is the Thinkster of steel that we received.

The Thinkster of Steel is different from some of the bottles/sippy’s we have tried, in that the straw is made out of soft silicone, it isn’t the hard plastic we have had issues trying to get Gradie to drink from.  This silicone straw has a cross cut design in it, which prevents it from leaking when it’s held upside down, flung around, and left laying on the floor, and let’s face it this happens a lot with a toddler.  As you can see in the picture above the Thinkster of Steel has an easy to open and close cover that I really like because I can close the straw up when Gradie isn’t using it and keep it cleaner.

Onto the technical stuff – The Thinkster of Steel is made from 304 stainless steel 18/8. You’ll notice that there is no plastic on the bottle to ‘see through’ – Thinkbaby found that these windows are made from PET or PVC and it really makes no sense to take a safe baby bottle and put it up against something that can set off gas into the product.

An important aspect to consider is that these bottles/sippy’s are made out of stainless steel, that means they can get very cold and very hot, but not to worry because Thinkbaby has the perfect solution for this – the Made-from-Limestone Neoprene Sleeve.  These neoprene sleeves work great to keep the cold or warmth from your kids drinks away from their little hands and it helps to keep the drink cold or hot, and it really works, Gradie’s drink was still cold many hours after pouring it into her Thinkster, I was pleasantly surprised.

To care for your Thinkbaby stainless steel products you can simply wash them in the top shelf of the dishwasher or hand wash it with warm water.  Be sure to be careful of the water being too hot as you could heat up your hand if you’re holding onto the stainless steel.
