Seeing reviews how they treat patients would help when choosing a doctor!

I select a doctor to see by calling each one in the yellow pages until I can get an appt within the time frame I want.

When I look up a new doctor, I like reviews saying that the dr. listens, is respectful and cares about what is going on with you. some doctors can be rude and just don’t follow up on issues you are having.

The things that influence me most when choosing a doctor is what kind of insurance they accept and the gender of the doctor I am signing up to have. I generally want a female doctor because I feel more comfortable with her over a male doctor. They also must speak English well. I truly don’t mean to be discriminatory, it’s just the last female doctor I had, I could barely understand her and I don’t think she could understand me very well. I feel that gets in the way of the doctor-patient relationship.
One last condition is that they must have a good beside manner. They must be empathetic, caring, and most of all listen to their patient. Finding a good doctor is hard….and the best doctors I’ve ever had were at Planned Parenthood! lol

I usually go by what my friends recommend. I think Dr. Social.org will be helpful in looking up reviews on those my friends recommend.
Off topic: but I want to thank you for making the entry hard enough to have to do extra steps but easy enough that it is encouraging to enter and not feel like I have to spend all day just entering one giveaway! THANK YOU!

I think for some people who are looking for a doctor or wish to change doctors, this would be a great site. Personally , I have been seeing the same nurse practitioner/doctor for many many years and I hope to keep who I see. I live in such a small town that I know most of the doctors. Great giveaway!! Happy Holidays!!

I like to read reviews when possible and additionally I like to get referrals based on a good word of mouth. Dr Social would be helpful because it would give people a way to connect and let everyone know about your experiences whether they be good or bad.

I base it on how the doctor treats me, if.they can’t bother to set and look mein the eyes wwhile talking then they’re not the doctor for me. I need a doctor extremely bad but because most places that I need to go to don’t take medicaid that leaves me still looking. I have a lot of problems and I’m just 37 but the problems began with my first back surgery in 2002 and then the diabetes, along with neuropathy all came along with it a few months later. My actual email is below but I can’t leave comments with it.

I read reviews online. I think Dr. Social is a great way to look up reviews and I like the Ask a doctor forum sometimes you have a problem that may or may not need a appointment with your own doctor, it is helpful to just ask that way you can decide if you need to be seen or the ask the doctor forum answered your question. .

Looking at reviews that others have given doctors is an influence for me. I like that you can do that on Dr. Social. Making a decision on who to see is important for many reasons, but now there’s insurance too… it’s not as easy to move around as it used to be!

I try to select a doctor based on a referral by someone who has seen that doctor in the past

My top priority in finding the right doctor is his/her level of empathy and understanding of my needs and life preferences when making recommendations — and it’s great to get a feel for others’ impressions of doctors’ personalities and levels of care on Dr. Social.
