The Okee Dokee Brothers have done it again. Who can forget their last, Can You Canoe? which brought them a Grammy Award in 2013. While working on Can You Canoe? the Okee Dokee Brothers had a month long trip down the Mississippi. Well this time they spent a month hiking the Appalachian Mountains and the end result is another simply amazing CD & DVD combo – Through the Woods, which was released on May 20th.

Through the Woods honors the old-time music traditions of the Appalachian Mountains with a contemporary take that I am sure only The Okee Dokee Brothers can think of. The CD has 15 original and traditional songs that they work to embody a true spirit of reflection while out on the Appalachian Trail mixed with insightful commentary on mountain culture and more literal references of hiking the trail.

The DVD features a 40 minute documentary, which tells the story of the adventures faced by the Okee Dokee Brothers’ as they ventured through the Appalachian Mountains. It includes camping outtakes, interviews, music videos and educational pieces. All of the hiking, camping and songwriting footage filmed was filmed on their adventure through the Appalachian Mountains – what fun!!
