Tactic Games – Mölkky, Draw Out Jnr & Choco
Ah, Memorial Day… The day when summer begins, at least in Minnesota it does! Jeanna and I enjoy Memorial weekend with the family, friends, food and tons of fun. Lucky for us we got to try a great new lawn game. I say lucky for us because the family is really competitive and it is one of the best games we have played as group!
You may have heard of the lawn game called Kubb? A Swedish lawn game that is growing in popularity in the United States, it’s played with wooden blocks and tossing a wooden baton from one end of the lawn to the other. It’s ok if you haven’t, Jeanna and I had played it at gathering last summer and loved it but it’s time consuming to set up and play and takes up quite a bit of space so we started looking for a new game for this year. We stumbled upon Tactic Games, an international, growing, well-known game company. Tactic is a Finish family owned company started in 1967. For over forty year Tactic has provided consumers with innovative, high-quality board games, outdoor games and puzzles.
Molkky
Now, let me tell you about the best new outdoor game – Molkky! Molkky is the most popular game in Nordic countries already and is growing in popularity in the U.S.! Tailor-made from wood from sustainable Finnish forests, Molkky is an outdoor skittle throwing game that be safely enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age or physical fitness level. Sometimes the simplest of games are the best. Molkky takes justa few minutes to set up and grasp the rules. To play Molkky, all you need is an outdoor space, some friends, and a set of Molkky pins! Success is based on a combination of throwing accuracy and chance (lucky for me). The first player to knock down 50 points worth of pins with a Molkky skittle wins!
We had so much fun playing everyone from my 11 year old nephew to my FIL! We played in teams until everyone got the hang of it and then we got the competition rolling!
Not only was I lucky enough to receive Molkky, I was also sent Draw Out Junior and Choco. Both are games aimed at younger children, perfect for my little nieces and nephews.
Draw Out Junior
Draw Out Junior is the children’s version of the popular drawing game, aimed at children 5 years on up. Our little ones love creating masterpieces, right. Now there is a creative way for them to release those works of art and play a game with their friends, and/or brothers and sisters.
Draw Out Junior offers 600 words to draw in three different question categories: Objects, Animals & Nature, and Names & Characters. In addition, an illustrated word for the younger children is available, perfect for your little ones who can’t read or write yet.
Choco
I have problems finding games for children starting around age 3, when they’re just getting to the stage of being able to understand how to play games, follow the rules, etc. That is why I was excited to receive Choco, which is a fun memory game for the little ones!
Choco is a wonderfully funny memory game, in which the aim is to collect as many peanuts as possible. The Pop-O-Matic die will display, whether you should pick up a cherry or a peanut. But beware of the green bug – he wants to eat your pieces!
