The summer is here, right?  I mean…….FINALLY!!!!  Here in Minnesota we had one of the worst (also the longest) winters since I have lived here (that’s almost 15 years).  I am ready for the summer, as I am sure most everyone is!!  BUT – are you ready to get those gardens planted and looking great??

    My favorite things to plant in the spring are basically a salad garden – lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and radishes.

    Anything and everything! I plant a ton of fruits and veggies and herbs every spring (six raised beds) and then we have a butterfly garden and a flower garden out in the front yard. I never plant the same things, just whatever catches my eyes… my favorites I’ve planted are probably the plumeria clippings.. those are fun to watch grow into trees with pretty flowers from just a tiny cut branch

    I’m not a big gardener to be honest. But we do try to plant a variety of flowers at my mother’s grave every year. We go for various colors rather than specific plants, but there’s always some daffodils since they were her favorite.

    We can’t plant where we are living now but I use to love planting tomatoes, okra, squash, and beans.

    This year I have planted gladiola bulbs, sunflowers, cucumbers, squash, and 2 roses.

    In our flower beds, I like to plant daffodils, marigolds, Astors, Black Eyed Susans, etc.

    In the garden we plant corn, tomatos, peppers, peas, pumpkins, lettuce and cucumbers, etc.

    My seedlings for the garden and my favorite is cukes because I love them fresh out of the garden for cucumber sandwiches and then in the fall I can can a bunch of barrel pickles.
