Petmate Prize Package Giveaway – $100 Value!! (ends 4/13)

April 8, 2014 By Africa

petmate pup park giveaway

The spring season is a great time to spend the day outside with your furry friends!

Did you know that March 30th was National Take a Walk in the park Day? Petmate is sponsoring a fun giveaway valued at $100 for your furry friend.  The items may vary depending on your pup’s size and breed.

My two fur babies are only 9 lbs a piece 😉  but boy oh boy do they love the summer!!  Love being outside after a long winter stuck in the house.  Just this afternoon I was able to bring them outside to enjoy some fresh air.  How about you?  What do your pups love about the summer time?

We don’t have a dog park close to our house, but that’s okay because we don’t walk our dogs. Don’t be sad for them, though. Our 4 dogs have free rein of 1/2 acre of fenced yard + two covered patios. Occasionally, we let them into the front yard, too, which is another 1/2 acre. Because of the number of stray dogs left on our dirt road, it’s not exactly safe to take walks. And with the heat that the Southern California desert gives us, nobody wants to walk much anyway. We spend special time with them in the evenings and early mornings, before the summer scorch sets in. It’s 90 degrees outside right now and all 4 dogs + the 2 pygmy goats are chillin’ on the back patio with the misting system on.

I walk my dog around various parks in the area. We have dog parks but I never use them as I have seen the aftermath of some nasty dog fights that happen at them.

I work from home, so I am lucky enough to have the time to take my dogs for short walks all day. We do a crazy long walk (3.5 miles round-trip) every other day AND we go to the dog park a few times a week. Both my dogs are seniors and one is a chihuahua who I carry in a purse most of the walk, but they are both in amazing shape!
