Latin Dreamland ~ by Putumayo World Music
I have been told to play music to the baby through my belly; I wasn’t sure why until I felt how excited the baby got when I held the music to my belly. I love feeling that baby move around!
Earlier this month I received a new CD from Putumayo World Music to listen to and I must say it was PERFECT timing!
Putumayo World Music is celebrating 20 years of bringing the music of the world to the people. In 1999, Putumayo Kids was created to introduce kids to other cultures through fun, upbeat music bringing African, European and Latin American music to the littlest of ears with hopes to inspire the children’s curiosity about this BIG BIG WORLD we live in!
Latin Dreamland is part of Putumayo’s Dreamland Collection a sweet series of soothing songs for relaxation and bedtime that Latin American mothers have sung to their babies for generations. The lyrics are sung in Spanish (which I don’t speak AT ALL) but it didn’t seem to matter, I still really enjoyed the music. It’s nice to have different music to listen to instead of “Rock a bye baby” on loop! 🙂
Music and lullabies also help in stimulating the baby’s brain. They help with language development, memory and even their brain development. Though babies are not yet able to understand the words of the lullabies, they retain this information.
Good news is Latin Dreamland is now available to purchase on Amazon.com for about $14 or you can buy directly from Putumayo Kids and help the company’s commitment to helping communities in the countries where the music originates. Putumayo has helped to contribute more than one million dollars to nonprofit organizations around the world! Also make sure you check out Putamayo World Music on Facebook and Twitter.
