Kinderfeets Balance Bike
Just in time for summer fun – welcome the Kinderfeets Balance Bike. We’ve all seen balance bikes before, but this bike brings balance bikes to a whole new level. Haven’t heard of Kinderfeets? Don’t worry, neither had I until recently. The Kinderfeets Balance Bikes were only launched in August 2012. They were created when a dad was disappointed by the balance bikes available for his 2 year old son, so he decided to design and create the Kinderfeets Balance Bike.
Kinderfeets founder, Oscar Mulder, is a dutch native and therefore chose to name these bikes after the Dutch word “kinderfiets” meaning child’s bike. If you look at the pictures above you’ll see that the Kinderfeets are bikes, but bikes with no pedals. Your little ones feet will touch the ground, which helps them to learn to ride while still having the ‘security’ of their own feet should they start to lose their balance. Just take a look at this video showing how much fun your kids can have on these bicyles.
The Kinderfeets bikes are handmade with eco-friendly materials, recently earning it The Toy Man® eco-Recognition SealTM. We all know that being “Green” is extremely important, especially for the future of our children, so I was happy to learn that Kinderfeets Balances Bikes are made from the wood of fast growing birch trees and every tree used to create these bikes are replanted. The tires of these balance bikes are EVA airless tires which are biodegradable.
In the place of bicycle pedals the Kinderfeets balance bike has foot pegs (which can be seen in the video above). These are perfect for your little one to put their feet up on while they ‘ride’ along and are also extremely effective at teaching them where the pedals will be when the time comes. Ms. Elliot is just a little under two, and while she hasn’t yet mastered the art of bicycle riding, she had a great time attempting to do so on the red Kinderfeets balance bike we received. I didn’t get any pictures of her doing this, well I should say I tried, but we’ll say that my photography skills are not great and trying to get decent pictures of her riding around didn’t exactly go well.
The Kinderfeets bikes are available in a six different colors – yellow, green, pink, black, red, and blue, with a chalkboard finish, yup chalkboard, so your kids can personalize their bicycles just how THEY want them. The bikes also come in a natural finish. You can purchase the Kinderfeets balance bike for your little ones for just $130 (colored bicycles) and the natural finish bike retails for $120. BUT – if you click HERE now, these bikes are on sale for $109 and $99 respectively, and are all mailed with free shipping. Of course you can also buy the Kinderfeets Balance bikes on Amazon.
Another fantastic thing that Kinderfeets does is, for every 50 bikes sold, they donate one to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. While you’re online make sure you head over to the Kinderfeets balance bike Facebook page – stay up to date with all product developments and to make sure you don’t miss any promotions.
Now I get to tell you some fun news – the kind people over at Kinderfeets are giving the readers of Africa’s Blog the chance to WIN a Kinderfeets Balance Bike (winner picks color), that’s a $130 value.
