My favorite Thanksgiving memory was in 1998. It was our first Thanksgiving in our first house that we bought. We only had one child at the time and she was 5. I made dinner. My daughter put olives on her fingers and pretended she was a tree frog & had her first Thanksgiving “wine” (sparkling red grape juice). After we ate, while I put away the leftovers, my daughter & husband put up the Christmas tree and then we turned off all the lights & laid down under the tree to look at the colorful lights. It was the start of a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition!!

We even had electricity and indoor plumbing!), we moved into a new house-which is still in the family. It being Thanksgiving Day, the only thing open in our area was a Royal Castle (kind of a White Castle knock off in South Florida). I still remember walking across the lawn for the first time…

My favorite memory is getting together at Grandma’s house when I was growing up and watching all the “guys” crossing the street to play football on the church yard. That was when I was quite a bit younger – now we either go out to eat or meet at one of my aunts houses for the holidays since Grandma is in her 80’s now and sick with Cancer. This will probably be one of our last Christmases together with her – so keep it in your prayers that she can come. =D
