I dressed up as a clown (as an adult) just a few years ago — I was told by multiple people that it was the best costume I could have chosen. When asked why – they simply said, “It fits your personality.” I really wasn’t sure (& still not) if that was meant to be a compliment or not.

My best costume I ever worn is my handmade Mr. Peanut costume.
The best costume I have ever worn on Halloween was a zombie bride. I took an old silver Prom dress that was stained already and ripped parts of it and burned other parts, spilled fake blood all over it, then Put greyish make up all over and blood on my mouth and neck. Also dripped fake blood onto my fake white rose bouquet, and added glowing eye contacts. I miss being able to spend that kind of time on a costume, they always come out better when they are homemade!

I was a loaf of bread when I was about 7 years old.
One year my older sister and I went as Egyptian princesses (Jasmine.) Except since mine was a two piece costume and purple, she told me I was Aladdin, and for many, many, years I believed her. I finally found a photo in which clearly I am dressed as a female princess.

The best costume I ever worn was made by my grandmother when I was a child, it was a Power Rangers costume that my grandma made by hand. I went as a Minor Miner one year. I was 12 and was dressed up in my grandfather’s coveralls and hard hat. When I was little, he worked as a heavy duty mechanic at a gold mine.
When I taught Kindergarten, I dressed up as the old lady from the Gingerbread Man story. I put a gingerbread doll on a cookie sheet, stood him up so he looked like he was running away. I wore oven mittens, an apron and old lady glasses and wig. The kids loved it.

When I was was in my teens, I had to take my younger brother trick-or-treating each year. He insisted that I wear a costume, so one year I didn’t put up a fight. I went as a vampire. I used special effects blood to make it look like I had just “fed”, (it tasted like cherry!), and I had “blood bags” that I carried around with me. His friends were terrified. I had a blast.
I was never asked to go again. (I didn’t mind the trick-or-treating to begin with, I love Halloween, but his friends were spoiled brats who got whatever they wanted and tried to boss me around…)
