Halloween is my least favorite holiday. It’s so hard to find / make just the right costumes. My kids like their get-ups to coordinate with each other, and that’s getting harder and harder to do. This year is easy, though, since they all decided to be animals … and my oldest is away at college and I no longer have to force him to participate.

i dislike that kids are only offered unhealthy treats. We should use candy as an occasional treat instead of giving kids bagfuls to gorge on for weeks. Instead of candy, kids should get healthier options .

I love when communities have parties – costume contests and activities instead of kids going door to door.
It bothers me a lot that some parents feel it is the right thing to take their kids to literally hundreds of households because they ‘like’ to trick or treat. The parents love the older neighborhoods where the houses are closer together so the families don’t have to walk so much; many of the smaller close together houses are those of senior citizens who do enjoy seeing kids but have limited money to purchase large supplies of treats. After the kids have trick or treated their hearts out, the parents let the kids pick out the 5 or 10 pieces of candy they get to actually eat. The rest is proudly .. PROUDLY thrown away because it is too much.
I think kids should only trick or treat at houses where they know, really know who lives there. And then they should be able to keep and eat everything they collect because they won’t be going to that many houses.

Halloween is my favorite time of year, I love seeing the kids all dressed and their excitement of monsters and etc. My family has always took pictures of every child dressed up in their costumes that came to our house. I would give this to my nephew!!!

i love halloween, always have! i love dressing up and eating junk – privileges we rarely got! and now that i’m older, i love to hear the children’s laughter and see how excited they are over being what they want to be and getting junk! it’s refreshing in a world so focused on technology and gadgets when you see kids enjoying good old-fashioned fun! i DISLIKE hearing other parents whine and complain about waiting in line (in our city we have a mall-o-ween and a treat street in our downtown district) it just disgusts me how impatient and rude people can be – and then we wonder why teenagers are so bratty these days – most of em learn it from their parents!

I dislike people who figure just because my kids are 3 and 4 that they must like cheesies instead of chips and don’t give them the choice. I also don’t like the people who give out stupid things like pudding, toothbrushes and apples……or tootsie rolls/pops (they’re just gross)….LoL
