Recess Monkey has released their 8th CD and this time it’s a hysterically upbeat circus-themed album titled “In Tents!” Jack, Drew and Daron, Seattle elementary school teachers, have created some of the best dance music for kids. Almost immediately after playing the CD I found myself bobbing my head to the beat and giggling to the lyrics. Ms. Elliot is much too young to understand any of the lyrics but she sure knows a good beat when she hears one, you cannot help but dance along to the music.
The first 8 tracks are just plain silly from a human cannonball to a cat playing a kazoo the lyrics grab the attention of kids from nearly any age. My nephew Garrett laughed so much we had to start a couple of the songs over just so I could hear them again!
Hands down, I think our favorite song in the house is “The Dancing Bear”!!!
The story of a bear that dances to her own beat… I LOVE IT!!! What a lesson for the kids and they don’t even know they are learning it!
