Family Fun Day at The Basilica

Laurie Berkner, superstar of children’s music and TV, headlines this year’s Move & Groove Presents: Family Fun Day at The Basilica, an all-ages event which takes place during Cities 97 Basilica Block Party weekend, on Sunday, July 8th from 10:30am to 3:00pm. Designed to energize the entire family, the Family Fun Day will fill the grounds of The Basilica of St. Mary in downtown Minneapolis with a variety of all-ages activities, all day long.
Move & Groove Presents: Family Fun Day at The Basilica offers something for kids, parents and grandparents alike. Highly interactive games, play spaces, and art projects allow for choose-your-own, active fun – all for FREE.
A highlight of this year’s Family Fun Day will be the Music & Dance stage, headlined by a ticketed solo concert at 1 pm by Laurie Berkner. Dubbed “the queen of children’s music” by People magazine, Laurie is widely recognized as one of the most popular independent children’s recording artists in the United States.
And the best part… the banjo stylings of the Twin Cities bluegrassy duo The Okee Dokee Brothers will also perform at 11:30 am on the ticketed Music & Dance Stage. They’ve won wide national acclaim for their new Adventure Album for kids, Can You Canoe?
The range of activities and treats at Move & Groove Presents: Family Fun Day at The Basilica includes not only these great musicians but also a Creative Kidstuff Arts & Crafts Tent, a Move and Groove Playground and Activity Area with face paintings and games, plenty of local crafters and retailers to shop and sample, oh yeah and who can forget the FOOD… there is plenty of food and beverages for the entire family!!
Tickets to the family concert on the Music & Dance Stage featuring Laurie Berkner and the Okee Dokee Brothers are ONLY $10 (2 years and under free). Rain or shine concert. Tickets available online. In addition, event sponsor, Dunwoody College of Technology will be offering free event parking!
