I love the tip reminding everyone to make their bed EVERY day. I ALWAYS do, without fail, without excuses. I have even made my side of the bed while my husband was still sleeping on his side! My kids always, do, too. They know that making their bed, nice and neat, is just something they’re supposed to do when they climb out of it each morning.

I like to donate old/unused things to the thrift stores to that was a good post!
I do like the mail tip
Today, when you bring in the mail, sort it in front of your paper recycle can. (or..garbage can, or shredder). DO NOT add your mail to yesterday’s pile of mail. (We’ll deal with it later)
Make this a five minute process, no more. Only SORT the mail. Do not turn on the TV or try to cook. No talking on your phone, or to your family. Give yourself this five minutes to start, and finish a task.
If you purchase new makeup, be sure to discard the old. In with the new, out with the old. This strategy will keep you from stock piling make up you don’t need. It will also keep your space, more organized.
Make your bed EVERY DAY – developing a simple habit like this helps us get on the path to better living. Next thing you know we’ll pay our bills and clean the house!
I like the closet face lift- “Return ugly metal hangers to the drycleaners for recycling. Replace with good quality, heavy, plastic hangers. One color ONLY. One color encourages uniformity…easy to put away, easy to retrieve.”

When STAGING to SELL, the setting needs to be more generic, less personal. Remember, you are selling the HOUSE, not yourself. Prospective buyers need the opportunity to picture themselves living in the space. This may be difficult if their senses are overwhelmed by decorating choices.
The organizing the closet tips are great im in the middle of that now. But do you have any tips on how to make your husband clean up after himself?

It may seem redundant, but do it anyway. This one simple act is a task completed. Not to mention, it looks nice. Give yourself the gift of one finished task, every day.
Encourage your children to make their beds too. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just completed. The sheets and blankets pulled up, pillows and stuffed animals placed nice and neat. This task really will help to instill good habits for everyone in the family.
Get the kids involved. I am bad about having my kids help with chores. A lot of times i just do them myself to save time lol…but i think getting them involved can be fun and also teach them to be better about house work.

organizing a closet is my fav. I am in the process of doing that now..thank you
Love the mail tip.
I love the two question advice: is it easy to put away and easy to retrieve? I’ve been using this advice for some time and it works very nicely. Sometimes, you have spaces that can’t be fixed (my kitchen is one because there is nowhere in that room where pots and pans are easy to put away and easy to retrieve because the cabinets were ill designed and the space is too small, working on getting that fixed is a big project for later).
Get the kids involved is a great tip.
Clean the make up drawer. Find this so funny as I have a huge drawer full of make-up that I rarely use. I rarely wear any make-up as I am a wash and go girl. I could probably throw out the whole drawer and not miss any of it.

Making the kids help is the best tip
Get the Kids Involved:
Our children add so much to our lives. Laughter, pride, joy, energy . . and lots of ‘clutter’. Don’t stress the clutter. Teach you children, to help themselves.
Young children tend to drop their toys all over the house. Experts tell us that out of sight, is out of mind. Children need to see their toys, to learn and play. Let them play all day. Before bed, have your kids pick up their toys, and toss into designated storage bins. It will take a few days for them to get used to the new system, but by the end of the week, you will have less work, and your kids will be more self sufficient. A win – win situation!
Return ugly metal hangers to the drycleaners for recycling. Replace with good quality, heavy, plastic hangers.
Organizing the Clothing Closet.
Love this idea:
Family Photos and Children’s Art Work Many families enter and leave the house through the laundry/mud room. It’s a place that, like it or not, we spend countless hours.. With this in mind, why not make it place where we allow the smiles of our family and friends to lift us up?
I loved the tips and couldn’t think of anything else to add. I just need more totes to organize my seasonal items. I love the see through ones but find they break too easily. Any suggestions about a tougher tote that you can still see the contents?
I am combining tips, but they all have a common theme. Start in small attainable goals so that things wont seem so overwhelming.
Most of them are good tips and ones my wife already do. The 5 minute mail tip would be my favorite.
I love the “When MAIL is your nightmare” tip! I definitely need to do this.
I like the tip about sorting the mail right away and in front of the garbage, shredder, ect. I will definitely have to try this.
