Can you Canoe? With The Okee Dokee Brothers
A Mississippi River Adventure Album Review & Giveaway
I know what you are thinking… and YES that is a Banjo! 🙂 I was a bit skeptical at first too, I mean A BANJO?!?! I am not listening to a CD of BANJO music… BUT I DID and I must say this CD is by far at the top of my list now (I think it just barely edged out Mo Phillips, Monster Suit)!!
This CD and DVD combo is soooo much fun! It is an album about the adventures of two guys on a canoe trip down the Mississippi River. Each song was written on the trip and describes the sights, sounds and feelings as if I was there with them!!
My favorite jam, Rostia the Squita, PERFECT lyrics to describe a Minnesota summer night! I could almost feel the dang things “kissing” my skin all over! I HATE THOSE THINGS!!! But the song made me laugh and sing along as if they were my favorite things on earth.
The Okee Dokee Brothers have really won my heart with this album. The lyrics are so perfect you can’t help but create an imaginary scene as you listen. The wonder and amazement of the night sky sleeping in a camping tent or a “transportable, affordable apartment” brings me back to when I was a kid camping in my backyard. Take a look at this YouTube video of the Okee Dokee Brothers,
The CD also includes a DVD with music videos and footage of Joe and Justin’s Adventure down the Mississppi River!!
YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS CD… if you can’t get the whole album try an MP3 for just 99 cents on by clicking here, Can You Canoe? . Or you can but the entire CD by clicking here, Can You Canoe?

Childhood friends growing up in Denver Colorado, Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing were always exploring the outdoors. Whether it was rafting down their neighborhood creek, taking long bike rides into the country or discovering hiking trails through the Rocky Mountains, Joe and Justin were born adventurers.
