Just like any potluck you’ve ever attended, “a Potluck” by Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band is an amazing assortment of music, a little bit to meet everyone’s tastes.
Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band is lead by the award winning songwriter and musician, Lucky Diaz, and Alisha Gaddis. Of their latest album, a Potluck, been released May 8th, Gaddis has said that their intent of this album, while it is educational, is to encourage more joy, connectivity and fun than anything. An album that is hoped to show everyone that although everyone is different, we are all connected to one another. As I’ve stressed in other reviews and posts on my blog, I feel that teaching our children this important life lesson is key to teaching the next generation that acceptance, of EVERYONE, is key!
The album is a broad array of musical genres, from indie pop to rock and roll, to name a few. The album starts with the poem “Morning” and ends with “Night”, wrapping up the CD from a nice beginning to a great ending. The first song is called “Lines and Dots” which is an awesome way of the artists to depict their message of the album, how we’re all connected, which is done with the lines and dots. The songs are hip and catchy, definitely had me tapping my foot (or more, hehe) throughout!!
