Kidz Gear – Headphones & Accessories
Product review written by “Africa” of Africa’s Blog
All I can say is WOW!!! As I child I WISH we had these products, designed especially for children and at a price that normal, everyday people can afford!! Kidz Gear is a company created by Laurie Peterson, a mom, who was frustrated with buying “kids” products that were poorly manufactured and at times assembled with products that could harm your child. She was tired of buying kids ‘toys’ but was unable to pay the price for adult headphones. Taken from the Kidz Gear Website;
“I decided there was a need to meet in the middle with high-quality, fully functional and ergonomically designed products that are value-priced and in the sizes and styles kids will love! Thus the birth of Kidz Gear: Grown-Up Performance, Built For Kids!“
I was lucky enough to be sent the following products from Kidz Gear;
- Kidz Gear – Apple Wired Headphones For Kids (with Inline Remote/Mic Control)
- Kidz Gear – Volume Limit Cable
- Kidz Gear – Headphone Carry Bag
The headphones are lightweight for your little one’s head to wear without being too big to and clunky. They are designed to be able to fit numerous head sizes, (even mine, hehe!!) Therefore, they’re able to ‘grow’ with your child, making them an even better value for money!! The headphones also have specific controls to use with all your Apple products, iPods, iPhones and iPads. The inline mic/remote allows you to control volume as well as allows for switching between listening to music and talking on the phone. A brilliant feature of these “Kidz” headphones is the KidzControl feature, which limits the volume of the audio playback to roughly 20% less then the actual ability of the audio device’s maximum volume!!! Saving your kids hearing during those critical developmental years. While the Kidz Gear headphones do have the Apple products special features, I am happy to report that they work with all devices that have a regular 3.5mm headphone jack, perfect for our house because I don’t really use Apple products.
This nifty Volume Limit Cable Control works on any headphones, thereby creating the same KidzControl feature. Lowering the maximum audio playback from the devices your children are listening to, if they are not using the Kidz Gear branded headphones.
I love this carry bag, an easy way to keep all your kids electronic gadgets together, no more losing them, misplacing them, or having them be damaged while not been used. It is soft, a a little padded, and has a drawstring to close it.
As you can tell, from the prices listed above, the Kidz Gear headphones and accessories are extremely reasonably priced. The Apple Wired Headphones For Kids (with Inline Remote/Mic Control) will run you only $29.99. I think that is a price well worth paying for a high quality product, safe for your child and designed to protect your children’s ears while listening to music, watching that DVD on a road trip, etc. In addition, Kidz Gear also has Wired Headphones For Kids and a Wireless IR Car Headphones For Kids for $19.99 and $24.99, respectively.
Besides for all the information that can be found on the Kidz Gear website, you can also “LIKE” their page on Facebook to make sure you are kept up to date on any product developments, specials being run, etc. I highly recommend this company and their products, it is just not often enough in today’s day and age that we find a company that is doing a good thing and listing their products at a reasonable price!!
