Mo Willems’ Pigeon and Pals: 2 DVD Set!! Review & Giveaway (ends 4/29 11:59pm)

April 19, 2012 By Africa

The Mo Willems’ Collection

Mo Willems’ Pigeon and Pals: Complete Cartoon Collection, Vol 1&2

Before receiving this DVD set to review I had not heard very much about Mo Willems and now I am kicking myself for missing out on his amazing talent all this time!!  Although I just had another birthday and, by the technical definition, I am no longer a child ;), I most definitely still enjoy good children’s entertainment and Mo Willems’ work most definitely falls into that category!!

Mo Willems has created a memorable character in this conniving pigeon and his pals.  Now Scholastic Storybook Treasures has brought all of his characters to life, and brought them all together for the first time on DVD in a two set compilation MO WILLEMS’ PIGEON AND PALS: COMPLETE CARTOON COLLECTION, VOL 1&2.

Additional stories include (Pigeon’s Pals!!!):

  • Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (in English and Spanish),
  • Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity,
  • Leonardo the Terrible Monster, and
  • Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed,

There are also three bonus features:

  • Featurette:  “Getting to Know Mo Willems”
  • Featurette:  “Animating Pigeon”
  • Featurette:  “Mo and Pigeon Visit a School”

The two DVD set also includes a bonus interview with Mo Willems himself.

Mo Willems’ Pigeon and Pals: Complete Cartoon Collection, Vol 1&2

One of the great things about these DVD’s is that they include Scholastic’s popular read-along function!!  Helping children strengthen their early reading skills.
