Wild Child is the fourth CD in the Celebrate Earth Music Series from Recess Music.
Wild child is a great way to teach our kids about ALL the creatures that share this amazing Earth with us, even if they don’t get to see them, other than in a zoo setting!! Wild Child sings the praises of Africa’s amazing continent, the fauna, the flora and the awe-inspiring animals that inhabit the continent!! Luckily for me, growing up in South Africa, I have been truly blessed to be able to see the majority of the African animals in their natural environment. Something I really consider a blessing and when I get the opportunity to teach anyone else about just how truly magnificent the continent is I JUMP at the opportunity!! Wild Child is just such an opportunity. As said, by Recess Music’s founder, Nancy Doan, “Of all the creatures on Earth, the animals of Africa are some of the most threatened.” To even think that the children of tomorrow might never know what it is like to witness these creatures in their natural habitats, well that brings me great sadness, and along with that it makes me realize that the time is now (if not yesterday) that we must all do something to ensure that the magnificent continent that is Africa, is preserved for all of those that have yet to come!!
“Lyrical songs, African Rhythms, and the voices of nature, create environmental awareness for kids.” The music on the Wild Child CD is definitely rhythmic, from the first song on the disc, Earth Lullaby, sung by Kathy Lowe and features African drums, chorus, electric guitar and bass, to the 13th song, Thula Baba, a classical African song that I am extremely fond of and that definitely had me humming along with the beat. Wild Child is an extremely entertaining kids CD that will be loved by adults as well. This is NOT one of those CD’s that give you a headache, I am sure that everyone in the family will love it!!
