PMD, Personal MicroDerm
I was offered to do a review for the PMD, Personal MicroDerm system or PMD and it took a little while to agree. Not that I wasn’t interested, but that I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to be able to do this process on my own AND at home, when it’s normally done at a doctor’s office. I did lots of research when I was first asked. I read reviews about scabbing and bruising and damaging of the skin with at home “microdermabrasion” systems. I found the PMD website and read up on this opportunity and in all honesty, just had to see for myself. The other reviewers must be doing something wrong……..this product was featured on TV, and we all know everything on TV is TRUE!!!
After watching the instructional video (A MUST SEE), I started by testing the device on my arm, it uses suction and a sanding disc…….I’m not just going to put it right on my face (I’m an accident waiting for a place to happen ;)!!!) The PMD gave me quite a fright but it wasn’t bad……..so on to my face we go.
Essentially, PMD is a microdermabrasion device that uses aluminum oxide crystals to exfoliate away excess dead skin cells while using suction to stimulate the blood flow in your skin to reduce age spots, acne, fine lines and even scars. It even promotes new collagen growth for softer, new skin. After using the device you can apply your own toner to neutralize your skin’s pH levels and because you are exfoliating dead skin cells away you must apply a face moisturizer, my skin got pretty sensitive and dry. Be sure to wear sunscreen too – especially as the summer is upon us!!!

Instructional CD and Pamphlet.
The exfoliating discs come in blue which is for more sensitive skin types (or smaller areas like face) and green is for tougher skin types and more aggressive use (or larger skin areas like arms, hands, legs, neck, etc.) There is an additional red disc, which is more coarse then the green. These discs are replacable and can be purchased from the PMD website.
I have been using this product for about 4 weeks now and think I can say I got the hang of it. They say you must use it just once per week for 10-12 weeks for full results. I can already see and feel the improvements!! My skin feels much softer and has a generally cleaner feeling.
The PMD, Personal Microderm can be purchased from their website and costs $179. While some may think that this is a high price, I must compare it to the cost of microdermabrasion treatments done at the dermatologist offices, which are upwards of $200 EVERY TIME!!! Therefore, I recommend the PMD Personal Microderm as I think it is an investment in YOU, that is well worth the cost, especially as it saves you hundred of dollars in the future!!

What I like most is that it not only provides microdermasion but also vacuums the skin. That has to leave it even fresher and cleaner than microdermasion alone.

I like that it’s easy to use in the comfort of your own home, by yourself! The treatment smoothes away dull and rough skin texture, and it softens fine lines, wrinkles, burn scars, and acne scars. There is ALOT of things that this device can help you with!

I told my girl at an over-priced salon that there should be a microdermabrasion tool for home! I definitely am glad to hear that I could have one of these and it would pay for itself so quickly. It does leave your skin soft and brighter looking. I hope to win one..but I will be looking to buy one if I don’t.
I’m generally not a “pamper myself” kind of girl. It’s hard for me to even justify the cost of a pedicure, so I would be unlikely to ever buy something like this. That being said, I bet it really does make your skin feel great! It sounds heavenly.

I would love to try this for ALL of my worry lines!! With 3 grandchildren , 1 son, and 47 foster children through the years, I am 1 HUGE line!! I hadn’t ever heard of something like the PMD for at home. I think that it would help me alot because it helps the overall complexion and for a while now I have had large pores and older looking skin for someone my age.
What I like most is definitely the price. Actually, for what it does I would expect this to have been in the $200 – $300 range, so I’m glad it’s inexpensive.

i like that you can change the discs for the face or body. I wouldn’t want to use the body one on my face. I also like that it helps with acne and scars.

I love this! I never massage the creams on long enough, and this has so many other benefits. My favorite is that it uses suction to stimulate the blood flow in your skin to reduce age spots, acne, fine lines and even scars (as it exfoliates).

I like that it softens scars.
Since I have hyperpigmentation, I like that this product removes the outermost layers of the skin in a safe way. Hopefully once I start using it, it will help my scars acne scars fade and promote a more even skin tone 🙂

it took me a while to find out on pmd web site that they ship to the US only and i am in UK. however, i really want to try this product as I have acne scars and before i used to have microdermabrasion treatments done at the salon and it really helps!only downside-it is expensive, so personal tool like this is great alternative
