As Jeanna and I are navigating the road to conception we have had multiple discussions about children’s names, it’s probably the one more talked about topic. I feel like I have often thought about different names when friends had kids or my brothers and their wives welcomed a new child into the world etc. However, as we are now talking about this and the thought that we actually will have the ability to give a child a name, a name that they will have for the rest of their God-given lives, it gets a lot more challenging.
I mean you don’t want to give a child a name that will result in them being bullied or picked on, like Sand, Orange or something else outrageous that appears to be all the rage for celebrity parents. I’m also pretty sure that when the parents of Michael Jackson or Bill Cosby (not the famous ones) named their kids that roughly 40/50 years ago they didn’t think that they’d have the same name as huge celebrities.
Therefore, the thought of naming a child is rather daunting……….much more then I’d ever anticipated!! We have some favorites in mind, but are far from making any sort of final decisions. Yesterday while the mite kids were warming up I sat in the time keepers box and read the roster to see if there were any ‘cool’ names, then I realized what I was doing and just started laughing. I’ve also caught myself paying extra attention to the coaches as they yell the kids names while I’m reffing, it is really funny what our subconscious allows us to do.
I guess we WILL make a final decision on the child’s name, when the Lord blesses us with a tiny bundle of joy, until then I’ll just continue to contemplate this name, and that and likely drive myself crazy as time progresses LOL!!! Here’s hoping we make the right choice 😉

I’m sure you two will come up with a super cute name!!! Terri’s a cute name, just saying lol. No seriously, it won’t be nearly as hard to pick out a name when the time comes as the bathroom restoration Jeanna accomplished. I’m still amazed at that transformation. I wish I was that handy!

Thanks!!! I am really lucky to have Jeanna in my life, she’s so talented!!! 🙂

Hello! Coming up with the perfect name for your unborn child is always a big deal. Like you said, they will have to live with the name forever. I am sure you will come up with the perfect name. Best Wishes! Angela

That’s not to mention middle names. And whether they spell out anything in the initials and go with their siblings. “What” is actually in the name book too lol.

I’m in the same spot! I am actually writing a name post as we speak! haha. I am stuck when it comes to names though. I have three girls already and you can imagine my list of possible names is growing shorter by the child. I’m big on finding names that aren’t too common but aren’t too weird (hard to find a balance sometimes), that flow with my other daughters (I’m having my 4th girl!) – their names are Luciana Amara, Emme Angel, and Roslyn Erika. Not too weird, right? This baby is the hardest. I am already almost 30 weeks and feeling the baby-naming pressure now. I am kind of playing it by ear myself. As the day approaches, I am sure we will just see what happens with our list of maybes. If I had my way her first name would be Eden, but I have to sell dad on it first! Good luck in your baby-naming endeavors! 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you choose!

Naming my child was one of the hardest tasks about becoming a new parent. We only had her first name selected when she was born because it was the only one that we could both agree upon. Of course, after 12 hours of labor and delivery, I got to pick her middle name! It is a tough choice. We tried to pick a name that she would like as an adult as well as a child!
