My name is Debbie Mc Loughlin and I am writing this letter on my own behalf, as well on behalf of the South African Women’s National Hockey Team. I am sure hearing the South African hockey team must sound rather humorous, but we do in fact have a national team and we play in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Division IV World Championships in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 27 March thru 1 April 2011. I am South African born but now live in Oakdale, MN and have been in MN since 1999 when I started attending college and playing college hockey. I am writing this letter as our national team is entirely self funded, we have no source of sponsorship and as a result the entire cost of our tour to Iceland is paid out of each players own pockets and, per the attached letter, this amounts to roughly $2,000 per player to cover just the plane ticket, accommodation and team clothing. Equipment, sticks etc are not considered in this cost.
I am writing to ask about a possible sponsorship. I do realize that times are tough at present and I am therefore asking for any sort of sponsorship you might be able to provide, financial, equipment, miscellaneous accessories etc. In South Africa the players are unable to get the majority of much-needed equipment/supplies etc. as there are no suppliers in the country.

RE: SPONSORSHIP FOR THE 2011 WOMEN’S SOUTH AFRICAN ICE HOCKEY TEAM
The South African Ice Hockey Association (SAIHA) would like to thank you for the opportunity to present you with this sponsorship letter.
This letter confirms Debbie Mc Loughlin has been selected to the 2010/2011 South African National Women’s Team, to participate in the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Women Championship, Division IV.
As a non-profit organisation, The South African Ice Hockey Association relies totally on donations and sponsorships to fund travel, accommodation, clothing/equipment etc. to such championships. South African Ice Hockey has many talented young players who need exposure to International competitions to show their skills.
SAIHA is pleased to announce that the Iceland Ice Hockey Federation has been granted the hosting rights of 2011 IIHF World Women Championship Division IV. This tournament will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from the 27th March 2011 to the 1st April 2011.
The tour cost is approximately R10,000 (USA roughly $2,000) per player, which all players have to pay in full, themselves.
Any help whether big or small would be much appreciated. All contributions will be gratefully acknowledged by all players.
