$50 Petco Gift Card Giveaway!

Petco Gift Card Giveaway

Bringing awareness of stray and homeless animals!

There are so many poor homeless creatures that it just breaks my heart. They are homeless, hungry and longing for some place to call their furever home! It is not their fault they are strays! For whatever reason they ended up roaming around or stuck in the shelters to live their life in a cage.

Please find it in your heart to take these first steps in solving the stray pet problem!!

1) MOST IMPORTANT! Please spay and neuter your pets! There are multiple furbabies born each year that could have been prevented!

2) PLEASE adopt!!! Furbabies from the shelters, or strays, are the most precious and grateful pets to be found. Pets are FOREVER!!! Please consider this before you decide to get a pet! Don’t get a pet for the wrong reasons.

3) Don’t breed! There are so many furbabies in need out there that are just as smart and just as pretty! People get into breeding thinking it will make them money – NOT TRUE! Then they end up with even more unwanted pets, which they turn loose adding to the problem.

4) Donate to your local shelters! Maybe you don’t have money, but they need other items such as newspapers, bleach, soap, etc. Call your local shelter – they can tell you – if you just make that call. The furbabies at the shelter don’t have much – please help them be as comfortable as possible!

Now, for our furbabies here safe at home – we have for one winner a

$50 Petco Gift Card

I would like to say an extra special thank you to our caring sponsor, Copy-Kids for making this promotion possible! Not only are they sponsoring our giveaway, they are donating $50 to help feed stray furbabies in need!

This Giveaway will end Monday 1/14 at midnight ET!  Open to US residents only.

Jennifer Hedden January 11, 2013 at 18:32

Kristin January 11, 2013 at 22:25

Somewhat…but I probably don’t have a real handle on how serious it is.

Stephanie Reed January 11, 2013 at 22:28

Yes I have these feral cats who come around our place and out of six of them, we got 5 fixed and their shots also. The stray pet problem is bad. These cats are friendly although they are feral. It’s a shame they couldn’t have been someone’s pet instead of having to live outside.

Kalsey Harrison January 11, 2013 at 22:28

yes i am !

Janet January 11, 2013 at 22:28

Monica January 11, 2013 at 23:51

yes

Raine January 12, 2013 at 00:11

Sadly yes-I’ve worked in a shelter for years and seen things that still haunt me. I’ve left due to illness but still actively help in every way I can. Education/awareness is such a huge part of the solution-and PLEASE spay/neuter your pet. There are so many very low cost options/help. Thank you,

Jordan Y January 12, 2013 at 00:57

Painfully aware of it. I’ve rehomed two kittens that were dumped in the dumpster and three of the four cats I have were strays and the other was at our shelter. He had his eyes removed because the person who had him before us didn’t take the greatest of care of him. We do our best to help out if we can.

dani marie January 12, 2013 at 02:13

to a certain extent yes.

Phoenix January 12, 2013 at 02:18

I’m very aware of the problem with homeless animals & am involved in cat rescue. A lot of people aren’t aware that friendly cats living outside very often are lost & have people who would very much like to be reunited with them. That’s why it’s so important to check any tame strays you encounter for microchips & to list them as found at your local animal shelter. There are also true feral cats who are born outside, & it’s essential to spay & neuter any ferals you feed, to avoid ending up with a much bigger cat population.

Cindy Begg January 14, 2013 at 05:11

I am aware of the plight of these poor animals. I make it a point to take my grandchildren to the shelter several times a year to make donations. Cash, food, toys, or just taking the animals for walks around the grounds is greatly appreciated by the staff of these shelters. My grandchildren have learned compassion and responsibility when it comes to animals by seeing firsthand where unwanted/unplanned animals end up. On the upside, we have adopted several furry family members that bring us non-stop joy!

Gaye M January 14, 2013 at 07:13

Melanie Baker January 14, 2013 at 17:19

Yes I was aware I am the very lucky owner of a furbaby that was 5 hours from being put down when he was rescued the previous owner said he was mean because he always was growling and showing his teeth. They had a new baby and were fearful. Well guess what this furbaby wasn’t growling he was talking and as for the showing the teeth he smiles all the time. I kid you not my baby boy gives me smiles constantly and loves hugs and kisses. He is the best dog I have ever had and I will always adopt or rescue. They are the best because they are happy for a second chance.

Mindy Mue January 14, 2013 at 20:52

Yes, I have two rescue dogs and foster dogs for my local humane society.

cassandra mccann January 14, 2013 at 21:15

yes i am aware. my pet was a stray and she is now 4 years later still blessing us with love. I am so sadden by the people who toss out their cats and other pets on my lawn and as a single parent on a budget I find that I spend more for pet food then I do for my own personal products. I have been asked why I do not catch and send them to my local shelter and I have been told that just giving them food and water is not properly taking care of them but my answer is that the only shelters around me are kill shelters and with that as the ONLY alternative I will continue to do what i can. It is not only cats and dogs people have released skunks and baby possums in fact one day there was a horse on my lawn and some deer but I did have a good farm come and get those. Just keep praying for me thank you in advance

Jacob LaFountaine January 14, 2013 at 21:27

Yes. Time to crack down
